Realating to kids!

The very first thing you must learn as you deal with kids, is that they are all

in the rough!

Now I know that some of them are way in the rough, (so much you can see no glimmer) but they all are nevertheless! So in all of your dealings with kids, deal with them as the one in a kind miracles that they are!

Putting things in a kid's language!

If you're one of those who's thinking "Don't they speak English like we do?" then let me give some examples of a "kid's version of English.

  1. Bad means not good in the adult version of English, but it means good to a kid.
  2. rad means nothing but a buch of letters to in adult English, but it means real real good to a kid!

Now let's just "dust off the pages of our memories for a minute...

And I supect we can all think of words that meant one thing to us when we were a kid, and another to the adults of that time. Like groovy,,heavy...far out...old man...old lady...etc., etc.

When you are putting something into words that kids can understand, generally use words that are 1 max, 2 syllables. This will go a long way toward ensuring them understanding it!

Exercise One

a) Look up Romans 9:9-10 in the "regular" King James Bible. (Not the New King James, but the old King James)

b) Now put those 2 verses into language that a small child can understand.

c) Now find a small child, and then read your version to them. Ask them to tell you back what it means. In fact ask them to explain it back to you. Anything that they miss ask them about. If something's not clear to the child then go back and do that section again. Then go back and forth with your "test child" until you have it completely understandable to the child. Then, and only then, send the finished product to me.

Ask the Lord what He would have you to contribute to support this important ministry, and obey Him! (Remember to make checks to Strong Foundation Ministries)
