My rabbitry is located in the valley of Oregon, half-way between Portland and Salem. Though I had never been interested in rabbits before, I fell in love with a fuzzy little Sable Point Jersey Wooly at Coastal Farm in March of 1998. It was over a year and half after I had bought and brought home Ginger than I went looking for a buck to breed her to. A friend of mine spent over an hour on the phone with me going through his standard of perfection until we decided that she must be a Jersey Wooly.
With that information in mind I went to the Clackamas County Fair to see if I could find out more. I found a 4H club that had several JW breeders in it and purchased a buck from one of them. One of the 4H leaders in the club just happened to be Becky McCall of B-Mac's Rabbits.
I then bought a buck from Fredda Steele and within a few months Ginger had given me two litters. Clam was one of these babies and she has helped me to find my way through the rabbit world. She was the first rabbit I ever showed in 4H and the first one I ever showed in ARBA as well. She has now moved on but in her lifetime she earned 5 GC legs and together we have also earned Champion JW and Champion Showman at many 4H shows, including the Clackamas County Fair.
I have a medium herd now, only about 30 Adult Jersey Woolies, and about 70 more rabbits in my other breeds. After years of careful breeding and culling my rabbitry is now producing GC and national winning rabbits. Some of my wins are
RIS at the Lincoln Co Fair with a JW
