THE SECRET STORM : THE AMES FAMILY

The Ames Family:

1.- ELLEN AMES (Ellen Cobb-Hill): She had a horrible car accident in the very first episode, February 1, 1954. She was taken to the hospital of Woodbridge, and she died two days later.

2.- PETER AMES (Peter Hobbs, Cec Linder, Ward Costello and Lawrence Weber): He was the widower husband. Some years later, he married twice: Myra Lake Ames ( Joan Hotchkiss and June Graham) and Valerie Hill Ames ( Lori March). His first marriage was short-lived due to both families and the second one was a happier one, until Peter Ames died of a heart attack while away on a business trip in 1968.

3.- SUSAN AMES (Jean Mowry, Rachel Taylor, Norma Moore, Mary Foskett, Frances Helm, Judy Lewis and Mary McGregor): She was the eldest daughter. She was eighteen years old when her mother died. She became the new mother figure and became domineering and fearful of any changes in the status of her family. She didn't want any remarriage of her father. Susan married Alan Dunbar ( Jim Vickery and Liam Sullivan) and when he was killed in action, she remarried Frank Carver ( Larry Luckinbill, Jack Ryland and Robert Loggia). Alan was alive afterall, but he got a lot of troubles with the mafia, and was killed. Susan was accused and after she was cleared up, she and Frank left Woodbridge in 1971.

4. - JERRY AMES ( Robert Morse, Warren Berlinger, Ken gerard, Wayne Tippit, Peter White and Stephen Bolster). He was the middle son. He was sixteen years old when his mother died. Jerry, overcome with anger and grief, made an attempt on the life of the man who caused the automobile accident that took his mother's life.He was sent to a reform school. Years later, he married Hope Ames (Pamela Raymond), a talented painter,and when his father died, he went off to Paris in 1969 to live with his painter wife.

5.- AMY AMES BRITTON KINCAID ( Jada Rowland, Beverly Lunsford, June Carter and Lynne Adams). When her mother died, she only was nine years old. She was the only Ames member who stayed until the end of the soap in February 8, 1974. Amy was played mainly by Jada Rowland, who would stay with the series off and on from episode one to the very last episode.She remains one of the few soap opera children allowed to grow up in real time. She had a complicated love life with Kip Rysdale ( Don Galloway, David O'Brien and Edward Griffith), Paul Britton ( Nicolas Coster, Jed Allan, Edward Kemmer, Ryan MacDonald, Conrad Fowkes and Linden Chiles), Kevin Kinkaid ( Dennis Cooney and David Ackroyd) and Dr Brian Neeves ( Jeffrey Pomerantz and Keith Charles). She had two daughters, Lisa Britton ( Dianne Dell, Terry Falls and Judy Safran)and Danielle Neeves.At the end of the series, she returned happily with Kevin Kincaid.

Other AMES:

* Hope Ames ( Pamela Raymond): She was Jerry's wife. She was a painter and they ended living in Paris.

* Kate Lodge Ames ( Polly Childs): Jerry's first wife.

* Myra Lake Ames ( Joan Hotchkiss and June Graham): Peter's second wife. Their marriage was short-lived.

* Valerie Hill Ames ( Lori March): Peter's third wife. She was a divorced woman and with a child, Janet Hill Porter ( Bibi Besch), when she met Peter. She was like a mother for Amy.

* Aunt Pauline Rysdale ( Haila Stoddard): Ellen's sister. She was never an Ames.She fell in love with Peter Ames, but she ended marrying Arthur Rysdale (Lester Rawlins, John Baragray and Frank Schofield).
