Accommodation
We
recommend the StChristopher's Inn in
http://www.st-christophers.co.uk/london-hostels/london/camden
It's the most popular hostel in the area, and fairly
professionally managed.
Alternatively,you can look at:
The
It's also very near, although we don’t know how it’s
managed.

The YHA London StPancras.
It's only 15mn away from the venue, very central and decently
managed.

and finally the
Generator Hostel.
It's also well-known, acceptably managed, but a little
further away - about 20 mn. Also in
a very central and safe location.

Food
The Escape Bar will
allow us to bring our own food in, although we are not allowed to bring drinks
in. During each lunch break you can
order a curry from the bar, find supplies in a Sainsbury’s round the corner or
get food from the numerous sandwich bars, fish & chips and kebab shops in
the area. We’ll also keep a stock of
nibbles all the time.
The Rules
The following official
teams are allowed:
Over the course of the
tournament you may run into situations where the rules are unclear. If you
cannot resolve the issue between yourselves (and the rule book) ask one of the
tournament organisers to help out.
Team Progression
Skills are awarded at the start of the
tournament and then after each game in the following order.
At Registration - 1 Skill
After Game 1 - 1 Skill
After Game 2 - 2 Skills
After Game 3 - 1 Skill
After Game 4 - 2 Skills
After Game 5 - 1 Skill
You choose which
player gets the first skill at registration.
After Game 1 onwards, a random player will be chosen for each of the
other skill rolls. An individual player may only ever get 1 skill roll after a
game, but may get more than 1 skill over the course of the tournament. Skills
will be rolled to see if that player takes a skill from a category available to
that player, or if a double is rolled, he can also pick a skill from another
category (as per LRB5). However, no stat
increases are allowed.
The choice of skills
must be filled in on the score sheet at registration, then at the end of each
match, but not after the draw for the next round has been made.
Game Score
e.g.
Paul beats Ian 3-1, with casualties 1-5. Paul scores 17 + 6 (for winning by 2 TDs) - 3 (for losing more than 3 casualties) = 20. Ian
scores 32 - 20 = 12.
Paul beats Ian 5-0, with casualties 2-1. Paul
scores 17 + 15 (for winning by 5 TDs) + 1 (for having
one more casualty) + 3 (for keeping a clean sheet and scoring more 3 TDs) = 36. This is capped at 32. Ian scores 32 - 32 = 0.
Paul and Ian draw 0-0, with casualties 1-5. Paul
scores 16 - 3 (for losing more than 3 casualties). = 13. Ian scores 16 + 3 (for
winning by more than 3 casualties). = 19.
When reporting your
game result you just need to give us the game result on the form provided our
tournament manager will calculate your tournament points.
The Draw
The 1st round will be
seeded by NAF ranking. The coach with the highest NAF ranking will face the
coach with the 2nd highest NAF ranking, 3rd will play 4th and so on. Coaches
without a NAF ranking for the team they are playing (either because they
haven’t played them or are not members of the NAF) have a ranking of 150.
All rounds after the
1st the draw will be Swiss, based purely on scores so far in the tournament.
This means the current leader will play 2nd and 3rd will play 4th etc. The only
exception is that you will never play the same opponent twice.
The Prizes
Prizes are awarded
for: 1st and 2nd highest tournament ranking, Most Touchdowns, Most Casualties,
Painting, Best Stunty Coach and Blackshirt
Hunter. In the case of any tied results
a dice off will decide the winner.
Tournament Ranking
The 2 coaches who have
accumulated the highest game scores over the course of the 6 games will win the
1st and 2nd prizes.
Most Touchdowns and
Most Casualties
The coach who manages
to score the highest number of touchdowns/casualties over the course of the 6
games will win this prize. Only casualties that would normally bring SPPs will count.
Painting
To be eligible for the painting prize you must have painted
the team yourself. Teams whose painter is present are eligible, even if someone
else is playing them. Over the course of
the Saturday the referees will look around the teams and make a shortlist. On the Sunday coaches will be invited to vote
for their favourite. The team with the highest vote wins.
Best Stunty Coach
The coach using
goblins or halfings with the highest score from the
games played will win the prestigious Best Stunty
award.
Blackshirt Hunter
This special award is
for the coach who manages to get the best results against the dreaded ECBBL Blackshirts. The
coach who gets the highest total score from matches against members of the
ECBBL (regardless of whether they are wearing a blackshirt or not) will receive the prize of Blackshirt Hunter. Needless to say ECBBL members are not
eligible for this prize!
