These companies manufacturer hearth ovens or import ovens from Italy or elsewhere and re-sell them either as kits (less expensive) or pre-assembled units (more expensive). Up until recently, they have primarily dealt in commercial ovens. With the growing demand for wood-burning ovens for the home and garden, some are now selling to individuals.

Earthstone manufactures a line
of beautiful wood and gas-fired ovens for residential and
commercial use. Their oven kits for home use start at
$2,000. They also offer pre-assembled units at higher
prices. I have seen their ovens and they are quite
beautiful. Maurice is a pleasure to work with and will
demonstrate his ovens in their Los Angeles showroom. |

Renato S. Ricco, owner of the
company, is quick to respond to inquiries, courteous and
full of information. His company originally imported
ovens from northern Italy (where the clay is particularly
suited to high temperatures) and now manufactures them
here in the US. His prices begin at about $1,500 and go
