Environmental / Animal Welfare Endeavor:
In the midst of her incredibly full life, Madonna has
found time to support many important causes such as
AIDS research and equal rights. In the environmental
arena, she is most known for her efforts to save the
rainforest.
In May of 1989, the superstar hosted a benefit called
"Don't Bungle the Jungle" for the foundation
Companions of Arts and Nature. The event,
co-hosted by pop artist Kenny Scharf, raised funds
for rainforest preservation.
Most recently, Madonna answered the call of actress
Trudie Styler by recording a song for the Rainforest
Foundation. The album will be released April 29,
1997
