M & M's Cookies

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup margarine - softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 - 12 oz. bag M & M's plain chocolate candies or M & M's mini baking bits

Preparation -
In a large mixing bowl, cream together both sugars and the margarine until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla; set aside. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture. Gently stir in the M & M's until well blended. Drop by heaping teaspoons full, about 2" apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated oven at 350º for 10 to 13 minutes or until the cookie edges are lightly browned. Cool for about one minute before removing from the cookie sheets. Cool completely on wire racks before storing in a tightly covered container.
