S Club talk to SuperTeen Magazine

SuperTeen: How would you describe the show?
Jon: It's just, like, light-hearted, a kind of comedy type. Fun in the sun, you know? It's just us seven having a really good time in Miami. That's kind of the basic thing, and we go on all sorts of adventures and we get to perform at nighttime at the hotel. And we swim with dolphins, have an adventure with an alligator. It's just loads of stuff happening, it's just real fun.
Paul: A couple of journalists out here have compared it to The Monkees. We take that as a big compliment. Obviously it's similar in the kind of wacky kind of humor and people just having fun, and there's music in every episode.
Tina: I think it's the only kind of thing you can compare it to-- because that's the only thing that's similar to it that's around. We're a band and a TV show, and there's no one else that I know of that has that.

ST: Have you had any weird fan experiences?
Rachel: Tina, Jo, and I have. We had done a TV show in the morning, and we were going to do another TV show in the afternoon. It was a Saturday morning young kids sort of show. And there were loads of fans outside 'cause Steps were on and Five and other bands. We got out of the car, and the driver left us like two minutes away from where all the fans were standing. And it was just Jo, Tina and I standing there. Then one person saw us and ran over. And the next minute you knew there were loads of people around us!
Paul: On that occasion, Bradley and I got dropped off a little bit further up the road. We got out, and literally fifteen seconds must have passed, and we were just like up against this car, we just couldn't move. We didn't know what to do. I mean normally, I wouldn't mind 16-year-old girls, like...
Jo: Paul, behave!
Brad: Hannah and I went shopping and downstairs there was a boy band performing onstage. I went downstairs and saw Hannah standing there, and it was just liek tons of people. They had to take us backstage and had to get security to take us out.
Jo: I had the funniest experience in a sports shop with my sister. There were just a couple of people outside, but then the word got around and it was just packed. They all started coming into the shop, and I started [freaking out]. The man came around and said, 'I'm sorry. I don't know who you are, but you have to get out.' I went around the back and had to climb over all these boxes, dragging my sister behind me. We went out into this road and we didn't know where we were. That was kind of scary.
Tina: You can alk down the street and have no trouble at all. And it just takes one person and all of a sudden it's...But it's not outrageous.

ST: What do you loo for in a guy or girl?
Jo: They have to have sexy teeth. And they've gotta be short. I don't like tall, lanky men. I like short men. I like fluffy hair and sexy teeth.
Jon: Eyes, hands and sense of humor.
Brad: I don't ask for much. But I like green eyes and vurly brown hair or black, and creamy skin--nice creamy gold skin.
Jo: He means Italian, just say Italian.
Brad: Or Latino. A nice figure, great personality, and great sense of humor.
Paul: No prticular look. Just somepne who is a bundle of laughs and not afraid to be a certain way-- just a strong sort of character...
Hannah: Eyes are really important...
Paul: Otherwise they can't see you!
Hannah: I like someone who is, um, kind of like, laid-back and like, you know, 'Dude!' I do like a strong character, but someone who's got a quirky sense of humor, too-- a bit cheeky. Who doesen't do what you say. That's quite attractive. But no particular features. If I like it, I like it.
Rachel: Nice eyes are important and a nice smile. Somebody who is ery funny-- someone's who's just got a great sense of humor. Someone who's very sort of manly.
Hannah: Can I add one more thing? Someone who's not too clean. Not dirty-- just a bit like...
Rachel: A bit manly...
Hannah: Yeah.
Rachel: But very funny and very caring, you know...
Tina: No particular look-- just with that certain thing. Someone with a good personality-- a good person. I like tall men. And manly-- not that boyish look.
Brad: And can you put in the magazine that I want to marry Christina Aguilera? I know it's the complete opposite of what I said, but she makes my mouth water. It's the eyes...
