To the surprise of all, this defeat heralded an all-win streak in their first 5 competitions which they won all: Egyptian Cup 2002, Egyptian Super Cup 2002, African Champions League 2002 (for an all time African record of 5 titles), the African Super Cup 2003 (for an all time African record of 3 titles), & finally they captured the Egyptian league title 2002/2003 at the last day from rivals AHLY who topped the league table all through. During that period, no other Egyptian club captured any title.

Along the victory-studded Zamalek history, Zamalek fans were never more proud. The last league title is considered the dearest of all 57 Zamalek titles.
