SETLIST: the one, my hero, generator, up in arms, all my life (new), learn to fly, aurora, stacked actors, new song, ill stick around, hey johnny park!, overdrive (gun beside my bed), monkey wrench, skynayrd jam, breakout, tired, everlong (solo), mia, this is a call.

i called in sick to work to go early and totally miss traffic. when i first got to HOB is saw nate walking in and i got to say hi and chat with him for a little while. he was really nice and more talkative than i expected. I told him I loved his band and he thanked me for coming and told me he hopes I enjoy the show (hahaha, yeah like I wasn’t going to!). got there around 3:30pm and and had lunch with robin, erich, and suzi. Met a lot of other cool people then too!! luckily we had a super cool waiter who informed us that if we ordered an entre we would be let into the show early! YES! of course i didnt order an entre because i can't eat before shows but he was nice enough to get me a reciept from another table which was my ticket in before the rest of the line.

they let us in about 15 minutes before the regular line and i got a perfect spot, front row kinda between dave and nate. amy and joe came in a little later and amy ended up next to me again!

campfire girls were the opening band and they rocked. i was very impressed it was way better then i ever expected. They are from l.a. and have an album coming out this summer. the guitarist was playing a fender jazzmaster which was awesome.

then foo fighters come on. the curtains open with dave's back towards the audience and they opened with The One. you could tell it was a good nite for them. dave was very animated through their set. i think it was during stacked actors when he jumped off the stage with his guitar, the jumped on the bar and played on there for a while, then stood on the baracade by us and did a little dance. he let the audience sing a lot of his parts. during monkey wrench he got through the screaming part really well! they played about 4 new songs which was so good to hear. they changed gun beside my bed since the troubadour show but it was still awesome. It is now called overdrive. for the encore they did one new song with just dave and chris called tired of you. the vocals for that song were incredible, it was slower than usual for them but was such a pretty song. I wanted to cry. then dave did everlong by himself and again the audience sang along to make it even better. their set was amazing. i think this was my 2nd favorite foo show next to the troubadour.

after they left the stage the security gaurd that was in front of us during the show asked robin who she was with and told us to just hang around for a while. then he told us to follow him and he took us into the elevator where he explained that he was taking us to the private party upstairs an that he couln't get us all passes but he will try to get us in. so we all go upstairs and we get in. the guy from lit was there and john frusciante. after a while tayor, nate, and chris came out. i got to say hi to taylor, thanked him for doing the show. He grabbed my hand with both of his and gave me huge smile “you’re wecome!!” saw nate again who was probably the most calm person in the entire room. he was very sincere and appreciative. i waited around to get a chance to talk to chris who was very friendly. he said the new album is expected to come out in july. i got to tell him i'm also a no use for a name and me first and the gimme gimmes fan and he was really cool. I assured him that I was not following him around, I just happen to like 4 bands he’s been in, he thought that was funny. Amy and I got to talk with for a little while, we joked about them being like the backstreet boys since he said when they were recording he would just go into the studio and do his thing and other people would work on it to make it sound good.

by that time i was very tired had a huge headache and just wanted to go to sleep but dave was around chatting with people and i was not going to leave without saying hi to him. so suzi and i waited around and i got my chance. he was in a really good mood and was very sociable. I was standing by him for a while waiting for him to finish talking to someone else and then he turned to me and was like “HEY!” and I said “hi dave do you remember me from last week at the eyes adrift show?” and he said he did! we had a nice short little chat. its getting easier to talk to him now. I asked him about changing gun beside my bed and he said the lyrics really sucked and needed to be changed and that sometimes you need to change a song a lot from what it started out from for it to feel right. He also talked about their other new song they did that night and how it was so hard to perform it made his stomach sore. I told him I absolutely loved the new stuff. And after that I got everything I wanted that night so I told him I was going to go home and said “my name is ami, try to remember ami!” and he said “ookaayy. AMI!” luckily pam was right behind me with her camera (mine got taken away when i was trying to get in) so we got to take a picture.

It was an incredible night, I MET THE WHOLE BAND!! And met a lot of other really nice people. And best of all heard some great music.
