I named this snowflake after my niece, Emily. She is such a sweet and delicate little girl that I thought it fitting. I used a size 7 steel hook and bedspread weight crochet thread.
Ch 8 and sl st to form a loop.
Row 1: 8 sc around the loop, sl st closed.
Row 2: 1 sc and 1 ch in each sc sp, sl st closed.
Row 3: ch 6 (makes 1 dc and 3 ch), 1 dc and 3 ch in each 1 ch sp until end of row, sl st closed.
Row 4: * 3 sc in 3 ch sp, (3 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in next 3 ch sp. Repeat 3 times, sl st closed.
Row 5: ch 8 (makes 1 dc and 5 ch), 1 dc and 5 ch before and after each 3 sc. Row 6: (ch 1 and 4 sc) in 5 ch sp, * (4 dc, 3 ch, 4 dc) in 5 ch sp, 5 sc in 5 ch sp, repeat * 6 times, (4 dc, 3 ch, 4 dc), sl st closed. Tie off.
