About My Picture:
Among the things you can't see here is that my eyes are yellowish-brown,and I'm about 5'10" and 195. I'm 46 years old, with a son who is 18. I teach biological psychology and various experimental psychology classes at a small university in New Orleans. I've been there since 1986.

The Motorcycle:

The bike to the left here was my third Honda Magna. Unfortunately, before I finished healing from having my second Magna totalled out from under me on April 22, 2005, someone cut me off on this bike, totalling it out, too. I broke a collar bone, cracked some ribs and reopened some old wounds. I'm pretty much healed up...again.

By the way, my first Magna, a 1998 version that was black and gray, was also totalled in an accident when some guy driving with a suspended licence rear ended me at a stop light.

Here are two more pics, which were taken with my second bike. (See the commentary on my recent accident above.) I have to warn you that these were taken, "in character," for a magazine. I don't usually carry a sword with me when I ride.

No, I don't usually carry a sword... Don't ask what I might carry instead.

Personal Bio

I grew up on a farm in Arkansas, near the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. My childhood was kind of isolated in that the nearest kid my age lived about six miles away. I did have three older brothers and an older sister, but the closest in age to me was six years older so we didn't play together much. But I never remember feeling lonely. Dogs, cats and books kept me company.

WHAT'S NEW:: I used to occasionally give updates on my life here, mostly those having to do with writing. However, almost all my updating these days is being done on my blog. It's been over a year since I've updated anything here other than my bibliography, but the information that is here is still good.

1. By the way, my novel, Cold in the Light,is still selling, albeit slowly. It's in trade paperback from The Invisible College Press. Cold in the Light is a kind of hybrid in that it's a horror/thriller with science fiction and conspiracy elements. Information and ordering details about it can be found at the publisher's website or at the page for the novel itself.

The book can also be ordered from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Walmart, or Chapters.

I also talk more about this book in the section of this webpage called "My Writing."
