Hello and welcome to the Home of the Kotzebue Huskies! Here you will be able to view the actual Huskies and follow their schedule, all the way from the Grace Christian Classic to the final games at the 3A Regional Tournament. Keep track of all of the Huskies games from the first tip-off against Delta Junction to the final buzzard against Bethel. View their schedule and win/lose record. The Huskies season will begin in late
November early December and their first tournament will be held in Hawaii. The
head coach of the Huskies Craig McConnell has also told the team that he expects
them to be one of the top ranked teams in the state and to make it to the state
tournament in Anchorage at the end of they year. He has also told the team that
they have taken a huge step from last year towards becoming one of the better
teams in the state. In the 2001-2002 season the Huskies finished the season 6-18
with a last place finish at the 3A Regional Tournament and in the 2002-2003
season the Huskies finished the season 8-20 with a 3rd place finish in the 3A
Regional Tournament and were 9 points away from going to state!
All season the Huskies were playing top ranked teams and teams a LOT bigger then they were. Their first game they played, their opponents starting line up was 6'6", 6'5", 6'2", 6'2", and 6'1". while the Huskies starting line up was 5'11", 5'11", 5'11", 5'11" and 5'7". The Huskies put up a great fight and were in the lead for a while, but Delta Junction started to pull away at the end.
