"He that believeth and is baptized
shall be saved;..."
Mark 16:16
Baptism is another majorly debated issue. As plain as it is written, a revelation is OBVIOUSLY needed to SEE the baptism that Peter, the first Pope as some think, preached about. The same baptism that Jesus himself talked about.
It is hard to talk about the baptism without mentioning the entire plan of salvation. One of the very scriptures that Jesus is quoted saying to be baptized, also says to be baptized in spirit.
You can read "The Name", . It may not be ready yet, i am still working on that page.
I want to give you a list of scriptures to help you see that it IS in the Bible that a man should be baptized in Jesus' name:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" {Matthew 28:19}
Now here is the scripture that so many people argue over. There are a few reasons why a person can't see the Oneness in this scripture:
(a) They do not
have the Holy Ghost and the revelation of scriptures.
(b)They haven't read the rest of the Bible.
(c) They don't understand the English Grammar.
You can combat those things by reading these scriptures:
(a)John 14:26
Says that the Holy Ghost will teach you all things. Matthew 5:6 Says that they that
hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled. In Matthew 13:11, the disciples asked Jesus
why was he speaking in parables to the other people. And He told them that
they could not understand the mysteries like the disciples could. They had
the revelation.
(b) 2 Timothy 3:16 says that "All scripture is...for
instruction in righteousness:".
(c) Do you remember talking about singular and plural
nouns when you were in school? Well, in Matthew 28:19 "name" is singular. "Names"
would be plural. That means that name, being singular, means that it is...
single...One! Next, take the very scripture, Matthew 28:19, and put it in a
diagram. Do you know what the subject is? Just do a simple English diagram
and prove to yourself the Trinity...if you can.
"And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." {Luke 24:47}
This is coming from Jesus Himself when He appeared unto His disciples after His resurrection! He was VERY alive and we know this because there were witnesses!
"...For if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."
{John 8:24}
This is one of the greatest Jesus name baptism scriptures that
is in the Bible but rarely gets preached. I think that preachers need to use it and
explain it more than they do.
Jesus says more in this one verse than you or I can explain in five minutes. This scripture destroys any other doctrine but the True doctrine.
Why would Jesus say such a thing? Why is it so important that a man must believe that he {Jesus} and his father are one in the same?
Well first of all, Jesus said that he came in his father's name. The angel told Mary what to name the baby, and that name was/is Jesus!
The Bible also says that there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
We are suppose to be baptized in Jesus's name! If you were baptized in the titles, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, then all that was accomplished was getting WET! You have to believe that Jesus and God are the same because when you get baptized you want to be remitted of your sins and take on the name of Jesus.
Peter said in Act's chapter 2 verse 38 that you are to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the REMISSION of sin. So that goes without saying...if you are not baptized in the name of Jesus, your sins are not remitted! And since they are not remitted, when you die you will BURN! For Eternity! Because there will be no sin in heaven.
Once
you have received the Holy Ghost, you will speak in tongues. In Isaiah 28:11 The
Bible says that "For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this
people."
In Mark 16:17 Jesus says that "...they shall speak with new tongues;".
