Who is Morgan Kane anyway?

Glad you asked, Morgan Kane came into this world under the worst possible conditions, the caravan his parents where in, on its way to Santa Fe, was attacked by indians, and both his parents where killed. In Santa Fe he was raised by a religious family who beat him a lot. At an age of 12 he ran away from home and started to work on the Santa Fe route as a muledriver. After the time on the Santa Fe track, he was recrouted to the US. Army as a sivillian scout in the indian wars, but he quit after the battle at Little Big Horn. He left for Mexico, where a Bandidos leader took the young Morgan under his wings, and trained him to a excellent gunfighter. After a clash with the Bandido, Morgan took off on his own and started a drifters life along the Rio Grande. Actions in this period of his life, had made the federal government in USA classify him as a desperado. The Texas Rangers sent a man after him, and gave him a choise: join the Texas Rangers, or the gallow.

But then what??
Not a all that hard choise. It was while he was a Texas Ranger that Morgan Kane got his scar on the right hand and the paralysed finger, but after intensive training he managed to become one of the "top 5" gunfighters in the United States, with a clocked draw on BELOW 1/5th of a second. After a few years as a Texas Ranger, he was recruited as a U.S. Marshal, and used for many various missions across the west, soon earning a reputation as "Killer" Kane, due to his low arrest percentage, much owed to that he got all the "tough" ones, the ones already centenced to death by the newspapers. The very same newspapers that were constantly screaming for Kanes dismissal as a US Marshal, since he obviously did not abide by the laws he was set to guard...

And how did that go?
Well, since he was the fastest of the U.S. Marshals in the western territories, his boss, William Shane, constantly defended him, both from congress and the papers, since he had tons of "Kane jobs", but only one Kane. But that said, Kane knew he had to keep the Marshal's star to be able to live in the US, if he lost it, he would have to leave the United States, to prevent him from gettin the target of young reputation hunters.

A bloody killer like that can't go on forever?
No, very true! After helping krush "The Wild Bunch", killing most of its members, Kane,in the late 1890's, was sent to Alaska, as Alaska Marshal to "die". Nobody ever counted on him surviving, and he nearly did buy it in the years he spent in Alaska, but as usual his will to survive was greater that that of his opponents.

And Kane died in Alaska eventually??
Actually, No. He was relived of his duty as U.S. Marshal, Alaska territory, and fired. He travelled to Seattle and tried hard to drink himself to death. (Always havin been a borderline alcoholic, he now took the full step) Only the intervention of a "friend" in Pinkerton Agencies saved him, he was given a job as Special Agent for the Pinkerton, as a bodyguard for Teddy Roosevelt, and he came to follow Roosevelt in the liberartion og Cuba. Having served well for the Pinkerton Agency, he was given an new assignment, track down and catch the leaders of "Ther WIld Bunch", Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid in South America.

And how did that go??
Well, not as expected, he found them, chased them, but ended up fighting WITH them against the Bolivian army, managin to help Butch Cassidy escape, though Sundance Kid gets killed. After this "action" in the Andes-mountains, Kane is considered dead, and it's a great shock to Pinkerton when they a year later discovers that Kane has picked up money sent while he was chasing Butch and Sundance. A large scale search for Kane starts in the United States, lead by William Pinkerton himself. He wants Kane killed, to protect the name of his Company. He sets 2 of his best agents on the job, and eventually they find him, as a human wreck, near death from livercancer. Instead of killing him as ordered, they tell him to leave the United States ASAP and never to return, which Kane does, he moves to Mexico, the country that he's always loved and travelled to when he needed R&R, not to forget, the country where he learned his skills.
