Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc., (SCA) is a nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to recreating aspects of the
Middle Ages and Renaissance. Our members research various aspects
of medieval life and present the knowledge in the form of
"Living History" by way of demonstrations, articles and
lectures. We sponsor tournaments, revels, feasts and even wars!
Amongst all this we also participate in local craft fairs
such as the Alabama Renaissance Faire.
he Known World of Current
Middle Ages include the United States, Canada, Australia, New
Zealand, Western Europe and even the USS Nimitz. It is divided
into 13 kingdoms, each ruled by a King and Queen who won the
Crown by right of arms. These Kingdoms may be subdivided into
principalities ruled by Prince and Princess who also owe their
coronets to victory in combat. Kingdoms and Principalities are
composed of local branches called Provinces, Baronies, Shires,
Cantons or Colleges. The Kingdom in which we reside is called
MERIDIES (latin for south).
