years old and the mother of 2 boys. The oldest is almost 10 and the youngest is 8 1/2. I
love to garden, work in the yard, spend time with my kids and hubby (sometimes) and
read. Not necessarily in that order. I have quite a sense of humor and love a good joke. I

I am a 61 year old retired RN who graduated from nurses training 39 years ago! I married
my DH Roy, aka Mr Wonderful, in 1962. We have three children: Steve, age 36 who
lives in NYC and is a systems analyst for Merrill Lynch, Susan, age 34 who lives here on
the beautiful central coast of CA and is a restaurant manager/bartender/food server and
Scott, who was killed in an accident when he was seven years old.
DH and I love to travel, which we seem to do a lot. We always take our golf clubs and
enjoy playing new courses and meeting new people. Our favorite vacation spot is Maui!!
My hobbies are cooking, gardening and sewing when I am not at the beach looking for
shells or tide pooling. My newest hobbie is collecting beach glass, which I started in May
while on Maui. I now have at least 11 pieces of assorted colors of beach glass. I have been here at the KT from the first but don't post many original posts....just read a
lot and reply on occasion.
I have meet some KTers and have always enjoyed myself. Seems like I have known
them "all my life."

I'm Carol from cold, windy, rainy, North Dakota. Remember the 500 yr flood? I'm a
Claims Examiner for an insurance company, husband is an Optometrist. Became a first
time mom at the age of 42 yrs. Daughter is 6 going on 25. According to her, I don't know
anything! I enjoy flower gardening (a lot of bugs this year), reading, looking for recipes
(even though I don't like to cook), the computer and and my email buddy, Terri. She
took me under her wing when she found out I couldn't make a pie crust to save my soul.
Now she can't get rid of me! I'm usually in need of advice. I love Doritos, diet 7-UP,
Choc. Chip cookies and my mother's Lemon Meringue pie. I love garage sales in the
summer and my husband hates it when I go. Oh by the way, I still can't make a decent
pie crust, despite all the recipes you have all given me!

Hi,
I have been coming to the KT for over 2 years--but I mostly lurk.
My name is Carol, and we live in a small shoreline town in Ct. I am 51 years young, been
married for 31 years, and we have one son who will be 30 this year. He still lives at
home, guess my cooking is to good. lol
I was an Antique Dealer for 20 yrs---had a good time with it, but gave it up due to health
reasons. So now, I dont work, but am always busy.
My DH and I Love to go to Foxwoods Casino--love Video Poker and we go as often as
we can. Its fun, relaxing, and It feels good to be in fantasy land for a little while.
I dislike winter-hate the cold, but love spring,summer and fall. I love to be out doors.
I also like the KT Chat---all very nice people, I really would rather chat than Post.

Carole OR I don't visit here as often as I used to but still pop in and post once in a while. I found the KT last year about this time and though I recognize some names, there are a lot of new ones here so I thought I'd reintroduce myself. I'm Carole, I live in Oregon on five acres (we just moved back to the country last year), have been married for 13 years as of last June, have no children, but six cats (long story), which pretty much amounts to the same thing, lol! I like to tole paint (used to sell my work at craft malls for several years), make my own greeting cards both using rubber stamps (worked in the industry up until last Dec.) and collage techniques, and dabble in several other things. I love to decorate and plan to go back to school this next year to get my decorating license, more for myself than anything else. That's pretty much me in a nutshell. I know that posts where we tell about ourselves have been on here before, but tell me a little about yourself here......hope to see you all around. Take care. :o)
Caroline in Sask -I can't believe I didn't post here! Well I turned 40 this year, I thought that was appropriate because it is the International Year of the Older Person ( I felt honored that it happened the year I turned 40). I have been married to my DH for 18 years. We have a DS 16 who lives at home with us. I also have a DS 24 and DD 22 from a previous relationship. I thought I was a grown-up way too young. DD and SIL made me a granny to DGS born Sept 27, 99. DS#1 had a girlfriend at age 15, she showed up looking for him this past summer. She had a son 7 yrs ago, my grandson. She is a darling girl, just wanted DGS to know his father & family. So she has become a DD as well. I hit the jackpot for grandsons this year, am having a blast with the Christmas shopping. DH and I both work as addictions counsellors at the local hospital. Challenging work sometimes. I have been a potter, cabinet maker, waitress, SAHM, and cook. I enjoy gardening, my 2 cats - Mitzie and Bob, spending time with friends, and doing crafty things. So that's all I can think of for now.

I'm 57, married 30 years to a great guy that likes to cook and do dishes and will actually vacuum and mop floors and do laumdry. He really is my heart.....
I love to garden in the spring and fall, but summertime the weeds take over everything. I am a retired accountant (yeh, I know, b o r i n g). I love to do wood crafts which we sell at craft shows around the middle tennessee area and sometimes into Mississippi and Alabama too. I am owned by 13 wonderful kitties and a couple of goldfish. I have a daughter and 2 fabulous, smart and good looking grandkids that live in Salem, Alabama. She and her DH also do wood crafts, but they are a bit more serious about it and do it for a living..... I grew up in Mass until I got out of high school, moved with my folks to Florida, went to college there, met my husband after being married to two frogs. We retired and moved here to Tennessee to the country.... We do not live a very exciting life anymore, but it is wonderful.............just doing whatever we are in the mood for....

Work as an administrative assistant and treasurer for a church. We live on a farm. DH
works a full time job at a chemical company as a tool maker, has his own machine shop
AND farms. Right now just corn & soybeans, but have been into hogs in the past. I've
been at the KT since it began, but don't post a whole lot.

Casey (real name Karen), from Newfoundland in eastern Canada. I'm 35, divorced, living
with my BF. No kids, no pets, living in a condo but hoping to buy or build a house this
year (looking constantly for something nice). I love to read (my favourite author is Steven
King), listen to music and take pictures. I have 5 siblings and lots of nieces and nephews. I
was a teacher and a call-in librarian for a few years but I'm not working now (my choice).
I'm thinking about doing some more university courses this fall, maybe work towards my
masters in Library Studies.

Hi, I'm Cate from Wyoming - where it snowed last week 2 DAYS IN A ROW and froze
all my flowers!! I'm 46 yrs old, married to DH for 26 years, have 3 children ages 25, 24,
and 22. The oldest son has a punk rock band in Seattle, 2 CD's out on the market, middle
daughter has Down Syndrome, still lives at home (but has a job!!), youngest son is
married and has a 2 yr old beeooootiful daughter. I am an advocate for people with
disabilities - director of the local Arc chapter, also local coordinator for the Special
Olympics team. DH was hurt many years ago and unable to work, so he is a SAHD and I
come home from work every day to dinner waiting for me...........yup, I'm spoiled.
I spend a lot of time lurking at the KT, posting sometimes, mostly when I know my
opinion won't get me in trouble! I like crafting, reading, garage sales, working in the yard
- anything that doesn't involve housework LOL!! I was in heaven when I discovered that
our library carries books on tape - I can sew and "read" at the same time now!

Been here for a couple of months but only the past couple of weeks have I been posting.
Was previously married for several unhappy years. Was a single working mother raising
four children when I met my present husband. He is the father my children wanted and
needed. He hasd to be special to marry someone with four teenagers and having never
been married, take on that load! We have been married 25 years this past September. We
are blessed with eight grandchildren that are the joy of our lives. We have all grown even
closer this past year after our son was nearly killed in an industrial accident and spent 3
1/2 months in the hospital and is now in a battle to regain his health. He is confined to a
wheelchair but is making some slow progress and the doctors are encouraged by his fight
and think he may someday be able to walk again. His main concern is to be able to
provide for his family but he will require retraining which is still a long way off. We feel
blessed that we are near and can help as best we can and that we have him at all. We could
always use a few good thoughts and prayers and I feel fortunate to have found you caring
people here ay the KT.

Been married 13 years and have 2 kids (11 & 9). Work at home mom. I like to make crafts, cross stitch, garden, read, crossword puzzels, trivia, cook, clean...just about anything. chelsea - Just a little info about me, I'm 43, have two kids, a daughter, Teri 20, whom has lupus and David, 17 which will be going into the Marines in June. I'm married to a crazy man, cant help but love him!! We own a farm and raise beef cattle in Missouri. I make Lupus Awareness quilts from squares that have been donated from around the world, do a little traveling to speak about Lupus and how the disease affects each family. We have one Rottweiler, that would help a person steal all our stuff, and a cat that stays awake at night to think of ways to aggrevate us. We just adopted a little girl, her name is Gena, a beautiful little cocker-poo, she's already training us very well so far. Please don't take my e-mail address offensively, I'm not a drinker, just the town I live in is called Bourbon, and I didn't have a chance to think of something better fast enough. Thank you so much for the welcome, this seems like a really nice place to be!! I'm in and out of the computer, (well, not actually In and Out ofthe computer literally but you get the drift....I hope). I tutor ahomeschooled little boy quiet a bit, and between him, my lupus workand the farm sometimes I don't get on here as much as I would like to.

down in La Jolla and lived in Hollywood for about 6 months after graduation. I have two
mutts, DeeDee and Beano. I have a betta splendens named Sugar Ray. I live with my
family (mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, and niece). I'm not married, but I have a
wonderful partner-in-crime. I am an ER fanatic. I love to cook (and eat!) I love to travel
and would do it more often, if I just had enough vacation days. =) I'm fully addicted to the
internet and have been chatting since 1995.
I'm a newbie to the Kitchen Table, but I've found very insightful, caring people on here, so

New around here, but love this place! Will be 44 on November 11th, Veteran's Day. Have been married for 26 years to an almost perfect husband and have 3 sons. One of them I didn't give birth to, but I can't remember which one!! Have 6 beautiful grandchildren, 2 boys & 4 girls. I babysit all of them, plus two other little guys ages 13 months and 9 months. We're a patriotic family, as I was born on Veteran's Day and my oldest granddaughter, Allison, was born on the 4th of July! Spend about all of my free time crafting!

My name is Cheryl, I am 47 years old and a SAHM. I live in Parkes, New South Wales,
Australia. I have been married to DH who is 47 for 19 years and have two sons - Matt is
27 and Craig is 14. Was a single parent with Matt and when I married, DH legally adopted
him. Matt got married last February and we are happy to have Susan in our family. I enjoy
reading, movies, sewing, craft, patchwork, writing to my penpals and have recently started
doing folk art - and love it!!! I love my computer and of course, am addicted to KT - well
and truly. Another addiction is chocolate - can't get enough of that stuff!! Hate housework
and gardening. DH is a bank manager and we move around quite freqently with his job. I
love to travel - have had the opportunity to go overseas twice and if I won the Lottery, I'd
be off tomorrow!!!

Hi ya folks. I'm China. I'm 37 and pregnant with my first and hopefully last child due in
September a few days after my 38th birthday. I've been married for 12 years and have two
adult step-sons. I have a little dog that thinks he's an adopted son and I haven't told him
any different. I work full time with a very flexable schedule. I walk several time week for
exercise, love to shop, I'm a vegetarian, and like to do gardening.

Hi all, I am 33 and have been married for 15years to a very wonderful man. We have 2 children (12 and 4) and 1 furbaby pooch. I am the manager of a state licensed daycare facility that houses about 35 children. I work there approx 45-48 hours a week and then I am a wife, mommy, housekeeper, cook, cleaning maid, etc. the rest of the time. I do manage to work out three times a week, but I also do it at home in between waitressing for my family. What I wouldn't give for some time alone!! LOL No, really I am a very happy 5'6", 138 lb, brown haired woman.

Discovered "thathomesite" after seeing it mentioned on the HGTV Decorating board a few times. I started out with the marriage forum, them moved on the pregnancy and then to parents and parents of infants. I've been visiting those (parenting) boards religiously for a long time now, and only recently branched out - and I am sooo glad I did. I lost my mother to cancer 8 months ago (day after DS was born) and the only 2 friends I have with kids live FAR away and all the rest work (I'm a SAHM)...Therefore this site is my only gaurunteed adult conversation each day (other than DH - who often works late) But even if I was still working I'd be here, I love to talk (and listen) so this is just great. My only gripe about this site(KT) - there is soo much activity here that I can't keep up (I think I am like the 50th something person to post under this thread - is anyone really reading this ?) baby woke, dogs gotta go out

I have no kids, stepkids/grandkids are enough, but have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and have loved this forum ever since I first came across it, it's my #1 forum. since I'm a crafter I have gotten tons of info also, this is a great site! Christina OH Hi there!! I'm Christina, 29 yrs. old, hanging on to every last minute of my 20's, 'cause I'm not done with them yet!! I have 3 DS ( 5,8,11), 1 DS-S (12), and a wonderful DH (39) with whom I just celebrated my 1st anniversary. I also have 3 Siamese cats (Dad, Mom, and daughter). I love crafting, especially miniatures, candles, and dried florals. I have been at THS for maybe 6 months, and have wandered into KT every so often, because I love the virtual friendship I find here. I wish I had friends in my neighborhood like you guys!! I have lived in Columbus, OH. all my life, and I amSO ready to move to another state, preferably Arizona. I am into digital photography and graphic design, and I work at a prepress shop, where I work with graphics and color management software, and scanning and digital output devices. DH has been a press operator for 20 yrs. One final note : We all have such diverse opinions! The world would be a very boring place if we didn't. Like it says at the top : "Good conversation is just as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after!" God Bless you all.....

I own my own business and work from home at night and have a part time job during the day to keep me out of trouble. I have 2 furbabies, Snickers and Ed. Always looking for someplace to go too. My creative side is crosstitching, cooking, gardening and sewing. I also love to camp, fish!!! and read. I also love going to estate sales and antique shops. I collect thimbles and small antique glass shoes. When not being creative or shopping or at KT, I work at my boyfriends shop and take care of the books. My name is Cleo, I live in Alberta. I'm a part time cashier/supervisor who hates her job,
but loves her co-workers and is too chicken to find a better job.... (there, I admitted it!
LOL) I have had four children, and am married to one guy. :) We are presently trying to
turn our yard into a work of art. Instead of a plain boring garden, we're trying to add
things and grow different plants to give us something to be really proud of and enjoy. We
have 2 cats, and my youngest kid has 2 goldfish. I like to do Native beadwork and
crochet, which is what I'm supposed to be doing right now, cuz the girl I'm making the
baby blanket for is almost due, but I'm having a rough time with the baby blanket. For
some reason the stitches just will not work for me, and I've checked and double checked
and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. As you guessed, I'm a real talker too.... :)

Hi everyone. I am 41, married the second time for almost four years to my soulmate, and have two really great sons, ages 20 and 19 (yes, he was the handsome Marine in the picture posted earlier this week!). I live in KS and am a fundraiser for a major Big XII university. Can you guess which one by my email address? I travel alot for work, which is wonderful. For fun, I love to play golf with my husband, play poker, and read (currently reading Terry McMillan's A Day Late and A Dollar Short and it is GREAT!). My husband and I volunteer at the local Humane Society socializing (playing with) animals so that we do not have to own one. I have lived in KS most of my life and really like it except for mornings like this when it is 4 degrees! Then I wonder why we are not in San Diego or Naples, Florida. I really enjoy the KT because everyone is kind, generous, and selfless; unlike many other boards I have tried. On that note, thank you for allowing me to sit at this KT!

Hmmm.....I live in rural Western Australia but was born in Columbus, Ohio (migrated here when I was 8); I'm nearly 40 (in two weeks'time); married for 18 years with one 16y-o DD who is in boarding school due to a lack of suitable schooling closer to home (local school only goes to year 10); two cats (one about 14 and mellow, one about 5 and a real brat, but we love her :-) ); not working at the moment but wishing I was; been a Sweet Adeline for over 10 years (started singing lead, then was a tenor for 5 years, now a bass (yes, I have a wide range :-) ); do private catering work and celebration cakes; read all the time; don't watch a lot of TV since my daughter went to school; love all my in-laws, my mom and stepdad but could easily live without my brother; hate cruelty towards people and animals; don't like rudeness; don't really drink a lot (seen too many drunks in the past to want to be one), don't smoke (just being around smokers makes me feel ill) but am more than comfortably upholstered (well, had to have *one* vice, LOL!) volunteer for a lot of committees etc because I'm the girl who can't say "no" :-) (but I'm getting better at it :-)

I'm Connie from NE Ohio near LesleeOH and SandiOH. Leslee introduced me to the KT
and I enjoy coming in to see what's going on. Post when something interests me
otherwise lurk almost every day. I'm a self employed direct sales manager which keeps
me VERY busy. I have a SO that runs fishing charters in the summer and broods through
winter. I have a DD who is 24 and DS who is 21. SO has 2 boys, 9 and 13. We have cat
named Chloe. I love to read fiction such as James Patterson and fluff stuff. I roller blade
when weather permits.

Hi, I'm 51 years old, married for 32 years, have 3 sons 30, 25, and 23, 2 d-i-ls, and one 21 month old grandson and another on the way ANY MINUTE now. We just moved to TN from IN but are keeping the house in IN because I can't bear to give up the lake completely so I guess I'm from 2 states. I love reading, shopping and crafts....and gardening in season.

Hi there: I'm Joan from Mn aka Cricket.I will be turning 44 years old next month I have been married to the greatest guy for 18.5 years and we have 2 boys ages 16 &15. I'm a Special Ed. Teacher this is my 19th year of teaching. I am also owned by my puppy Bailey. I've been here at the KT for a year now.

No, wait, maybe I'm a second grade teacher. Yeah, that's it. DH and I live in northeast
Oklahoma and have been married almost 32 years. Our son is an engineer in Kansas, and
our daughter lives in San Francisco and works for a dotcom company. (Hey, Jehan,
wouldn't it be funny if our kids worked together!) I'd love to be able to say cooking and
cleaning are my hobbies, but that would be a bigger whopper than the Nobel prize thing. I
do love animals, reading, travel, and being online.

I'm Brenda (better known as Country Bumpkin'). I'm 50, been married almost 33yrs. and
we have 4 children (2 oldest are adopted, son 31,daughter 28. Also got a son (by birth) that
is almost 21 and another son, who is in Heaven. He was born in Nov.1984.
I am a caregiver to a 65 year old lady (took care of her MIL, until she died in 1999) and
absolutely love my job.
We're a "critter" family, with 3 dogs (Daisy,Jake and Kodi) 2 cats (Buddy and Dusti) and
my son has a ferret named Lady.
I'm looking for a way to add more hours in the day, so I can do the things I enjoy..counted
X-stitch, crochet,play on the computer,etc.!

Cupcake from SW Michigan. 49 years old. 30th Anniversary will be Jan 9th. Have two DDs, 2 GDs. Part-time grocery store cashier for 9 years. Play golf, love to cook and bake. Collect cookbooks (have over 2,000) and Pillsbury/Pillsbury Doughboy items. Love playing on the computer and learning new things. Been at the KT since March of '99. Learned right here how to post gifs, music, and a few other things. Visit several message boards and belong to a Country gif email list and an animated gif news group. Don't post everyday, but some days post alot.
Oh! How could I forget!! DD #1 expecting her first child the end of February.
