Hi everyone, I'm mabe from Connecticut. I just turned 40 this year, and am starting to feel
it. I am a full time working mom to one DS who will be 7 in July. I've been married for 9
years to a wonderful guy who puts up with my moods. I love gardening, reading,
crossword puzzles, walking and playing with DS. We own our own home with just over 1
acre and are having a blast re-landscaping. I'm starting a rose bed this spring and very
excited about it. We have one furbaby, an all black cat (complete with attitude) named
Sambuca. It's been so much fun talking with everyone here, this is a great group of people.

We are expecting our first child at the end of August-- but are waiting 'til the end of our first trimester to tell people we know (which makes these forums even more enticing!). In my spare time, I love to garden and do home dec stuff as well as crafts and we both love to hike and travel. I've lurked at the KT off and on for the last 6-9 months-- but have not been a "regular". What I like about the KT is it seems like a real community-- where people actually seem to care about one another. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to introduce myself!

Marcia from Indiana. Adminitstrative Assistant. I have no immediate family. My favorite place to visit is the real Disney World (LOL). I love to read, watch movies, go to the theater and concerts. Right now I am watching the Olympics while checking out the KT. I have one devil-kitty -- I mean, angel-kitty -- who just turned 13 on 8/31. I also do water aerobics 3x a week and am on a weight loss program, planning to reach goal by next summer. I started visiting the KT around March or April of this year. I used to do the HGTV forums and there were so many references to the 'evil That Home Site' I knew it had to a much nicer place to visit and came on over. I started out at TSL, but then found the KT and stayed.

Been at the Table since October, 1998 (I found it through the GardenWeb and have seen lots of people come and go) but don't post much any more...but still visit very often as I enjoy the friendly atmosphere. the world. Have been writing to a nice lady in Australia for 4 years now, and actually feel
as though I know her.
I have dogs, and feed all the neighborhood hungry cats, and sometimes there are many.
Usually don't post on the KT, but do lurk and occasionally will put in my 2 cents worth on
one topic or another.

Spend summers in North Dakota and winters in Calif, until we sell (on market now-) and then will travel winters or spend more time up around Eureka Ca. near DD#2. DD#1 in ND. Do some crafting, would like to do more. Have 1 son in so calif. Have 4 GD's and all different personalities. Have one cat--that son takes care of. Too hard to have animals when traveling. Love to travel and meet people from all over. It it amazing to be talking to someone and find out that they have either friends or relative in the area I live in or have lived in.

Hi,'I'm Donna-Oh' sister. Have been here for over a year. I'm 69yo, widowed, retired RN, who sits with a lovely 92yo lady who is self sufficient...I have ca and approx 2 months left on this earth. I have no problems with that so don't pity me. I belong to a religious organization and and very happy. I have one son, DIL, and 2 lovely GK who I had previously planned to live with in Va. until this happened to me.
Just this week I have made contact with 2 boys I helped raise
for over 14 yrs. and I was their "grandma". I get to see them next weekend and it has given me all I need to be the happiest person in the world.
I've met Glenda in person and I've made friends with many thru the
KT. It's a wonderful place to have friends, esp like Wanda.IA.

Hi everyone! I am 46 yrs young and have 5 kids and soon will have 3 step children and 4SGC too, I live in Western NY with my finace. Livng out in the country for the first time in my life and enjoying it. Oh better not forget we have 3 dogs also 2 that stay outside and our poodle penny who is in the house most all the time. Hello All; I'm from CA originally, but have lived in PA and OH before moving to RI almost five years ago. I have been lurking around KT, off and on, for more than a year. I used to correspond with Hedy from Canada, but lost contact with her late last year. I have been a secretary, potter, dental asst., office supply salesperson, emergency medical tech. and ambulance driver, and an office/payroll mgr. Retired now, and enjoying all that New England has to offer. I have two sons, one daughter and six grandkids. They're all my pride and joy. Love to check in with the KT occasionally. Everyone seems to be so friendly and helpful. My hobbies include reading, sewing, quilting, crafts, walking and birdwatching.

I'm Marsha from Oklahoma. I work full time+ in the Computer arena as a programmer on Lg. mainframe computers. DH of 11 years works in the same building as I, his office is just down the hall from mine. VERY interesting. We have done this for the past 4 years, and it really isn't too bad. When we are at home we tend to do our "own" things. Too much togetherness ya know. At this time we are empty nesters, and love it. I have 1 DS(30) and 2 DD (27 & 28). DH has 3 DS (28, 27, 22). All of them except 22yr live in this general area. 22yr is in the Navy in Virginia Beach. Our house was rather wild when they were all home during their teenage years. We have 6 GK, 3G & 3B. 4 live here. We spend all the time we can with them. I love to be outdoors. I love to work in the yard, travel (I do a lot for work), crafting (I'm better at gathering ideas and supplies than the actual execution), garage sales, antiquing and reading. We renently had to have our 17 yr old dog-kid Missy put down and our 4yr old Schnauser mix is living with my mother to keep her company for a while. I'm 47 yrs old and a Scorpio. Try to get to the KT at least once a day if only to read posts.

I use to do crafts before the KT. Now I spend all my time here. Crafts and house work suffer for it. LOL!!! Love this site and my new friends I have made here.

Hi everyone. I want to welcome all the new people, glad to meet you all. Me??!! I have been enjoying visiting the KT for over a year now and have made some good friends here. I am 42 years old and married to a sweet guy, it will be our 25th anniversary in February. We have two children, all grown up, a daughter, 24 who is going to college and a son, 21 who is living at home right now, he delivers pizza but one day he hopes to be in a famous rock band. I am very proud of both of my kids!! Some of my hobbies are photography and flower gardening, especially roses. I have 76 rose bushes right now. Unfortunately, winter is just around the corner so I won't have roses much longer this year. We have a chocolate lab called Chien and my son has a cat, called Tonka so we have some adorable pets. I am working part-time at the Dairy Queen right now, but I am hoping to get some kind of office job soon. I took a few evening classes on computer stuff to help me in my job quest that has been going on for over a year now. Someday!! Bye, it is nice to meet everyone and read their stories. Thanks.

We have 1 DD,2 DS,1GS,2GD,2 step GS,3 step GD. Boy, do we have a disfunctional family? DH and I work together. He does the outside yard work, and I do the inside house work. We have a dog named Bridgette, 1 year old today. We love to travel and do so every chance we get. My hobbies other than the puter are crafts and refinishing furniture. Hi, I'm Mary Gail and I now live in Illinois although I still feel like a Wisconsinite because it is only 35 miles to my daughter's home in Wisconsin, where I kid-sit Mondays and Tuesdays, taking them to after-school events and keeping them from "killing" each other, as there is a 7 year age difference.
I was born in Duluth, MN and will be 72 in March and have been a widow for 30 years. I have three daughters, three gd and one gs. I had a companion for 17 years and when he died last April I moved in with my middle daughter. We never married because I said I wasn't going to have some man telling me what to do! As long as we weren't married, I felt free to do my thing regarding children and grandchildren.
I retired as a legal secretary from a large international company eight years ago. I love to read, but now that I have my computer (which my children gave me as a birthday gift several years ago), I have a hard time fitting it in. I also enjoy shopping in thrift stores.
Reading all your posts and the posts of the women on frugal-moms keeps me young in spirit.

Hi Everyone, I am fairly new to this forum and just love it!! I am 52 and live in TN. Moved here from MI 5 years ago when DH retired. I have 3 handsome sons and a great DIL and 2 step-grandsons. They were welcomed into the family in May. This may be the best way to get them because there was no potty training involved!!! They are 6 and 8. I am a program assistant with 4-H for our county and go to elementary schools and talk about 4-H. I really like being with kids. I am an avid crafter and have made baskets for 15 years and usually have some type of craft "in progress".

I love playing the guitar (acoustic), DH plays also and so does my son. We all have diff taste in music, but thats ok!
My Mom lives like 4 miles from us, she is a sweetie, and you would all love her to pieces : ) she is 75 and went back to work a few years ago 2 1/2 days a week and one day a week works at the cancer society doing volunteering.
I have a sis who is in Washington State..were very close.
No pets.. love dogs...but I have enough in my life to take care of.
Oh yes I love chocolate..BUT can not stand cheesecake! And I am a cookieaholic!
Im wanting to finish my education and go into space design.
All in all "I" think Im an ok person and as of all you KT'ers.. your all GREAT! and full of support no matter what your story is.

Hey Y'all! I am Melanie from the Houston area of Katy, Texas...now a recent transplant to the UK. We live about thirty minutes from London, in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. I am 40, have been married 20 years this December to DH, who is a petrophysicist with BP. We have three children: DD #1 is almost 17 and in 11th grade; DS is almost 13 and in 7th grade; and DD #2 is 9 and in 4th grade. I have two precious kitties, Rocky and Kushka. They are staying with my good friend in Texas, as they could not handle the 6 month quarantine process in England. I miss them so much! I am beginning to adjust and try to work through my culture shock...every day is a new experience here in merry old England. I really miss home and am happy to have my KT buds to commiserate with. I have been coming to the KT since the beginning, and if I can shake off the tranfer blues, I'll be back at my place at the table more often!

Everyone seems so friendly, funny, and easy-going here- it really is just like sitting around a kitchen table with family/friends! Anyway, I'm 40,married, have one 5 year old ds. I have been a sahm for the past year (after finally getting to leave the healthcare business to do the fulltime job I truly love, being a mother/wife). I enjoy cooking, reading, old movies,yardsales and bargain hunting, and home decorating.

The shooting teams means he will be competiting against other police officers in the state for the first year then the second year he will be competing around the country. I take care of the books for the family business and I babysit for my GD while her mother works. I love to sew, quilt and read when I have the time. We live in the country and have a very spoiled black cat who allows us to live with her. I stumbled onto That Home Site in Sept 1997 looking for wedding information for oldest DD's wedding. I found KT a little later. I don't post much, but, lurk when I can.

I'm 35, single, an early childhood teacher who has moved into the computer world instead of the classroom. I currently work for a Californian company updating websites and other stuff (which is great because at present US money actually buys lots of Australian money LOL) I found the KT after hanging around the craft forum for a while and everyone was so nice here I decided to stick around just to annoy them :) I live with my mother (the result of having an older mother and a terrible local education department - hence only part time jobs for many years.) I have 2 half brothers and a half sister all much older than I, and a younger DS. All have children so I have 12 nieces/ nephews, with another on the way and 10 great nieces / nephews. My youngest sister's little boy Daniel (2) is my favourite (well the next nephew after him is 27, so it's a bit hard to bounce him on my knees!) I'm teaching him to become a computer genius (well I need someone to fix my computers in MY old age). He already knows where to put the Winnie the Pooh CD, and how to use the mouse ;-) Apart from typing too much here I'm also into crafts, beading, rubber stamping, writing, photography, genealogy, & used to be a keen gardener until I plugged in my first computer...

I worked for 20 years as a mechanical engineer. Sure am enjoying my time at home now.
I am an avid quilter. Have to have an extra bedroom for my fabric stash and 1/2 of my livingroom is taken up with my quilt frame and sewing table. I can't stand being shut up by myself to quilt! I teach quilting at our local recreation center and am dreaming of opening a quilt shop.

Moved out of Jersey to suburbs west of Philly when I got married. Why? because iy's
what you do when you grow up in boring So. Jersey.
Age 55 - married 35 years this October - no children, but lots of nieces, nephews to spoil.
Been in the computer industry since 1963....it's all I know how to do.
Been a baseball fan(Phillies) since my first ball game - September 5, 1959 when the Reds
beat the Phillies 8-3. Robin Roberts was the losing pitcher. Been a season ticket holder for
almost 30 years.
Hobbies are many....counted cross sstitch, crocheting, knitting, petit point, hook all my
own rugs, voracious reader.
Used to do a lot of cake decorating - made most of friends' children's wedding cakes - one
as tall as 5 feet! Don't do much of that anymore,
Known as a pretty darn good cook. Especially known for my cookies and candies.

Hi, I'm 31, married 7 years to a guy I met on a music forum when the internet meant just local 'puters connected..LOL
We have a 2 year old DS. I am a SAHM. We have 5 kitties who rule the house. My intrests are of course Music, reading, crafts, scrapbooking, cooking, shopping, playing on the 'puter, and now playing all those darn games y'all keep posting links for!!!!! I have been coming here since around this past spring. I was looking for a diet forum and just came in here for a look and haven't been able to stay away for more than a few hours unless I don't have a 'puter near me. BTW I have only been to the diet forum a couple of times, why bother with all the cheesecake they share here!

I'm Mouselady (not my real name) from South Carolina, 54, married 32+ years, 1 DD
who is 30, 1 SIL who is 32 today, a spoiled "cat daughter" named Abbi, I am a
self-employed Domestic Goddess, my DH helps me in this business since his retirement,
enjoy reading, piddling with all types of crafts, love to redecorate our home, work in the
yard.Enjoy going to yard sales and flea markets and junk shops and road side heaps
looking for usable "yard art".

Hi Everyone! I'm MaryRose ( The Paint Drop Hug Lady!) and I've been here since the
Kt began. As my hugs indicate I'm a decorative artist and enjoy painting everything from
Christmas Ornaments to designing and decorating furniture. I've been married to my
sweet Hubster for 6 1/2 years noe. Together we have 3 kids, 2 grown and our youngest is
14. We have a 9 month old Grandson named Sebastian who we adore. Plus 3 dogs who
think they are children too. Hubster and I enjoy gardening and together we have put all
the landscaping , sprinkler system, lawn and plants in the backyard ourselves. Everything
except the pool and waterfall. We also like to play blackjack and slot machines and
frequently take trips together to play. I'm a pretty lucky lady to have such a great family
and my KT family too!

One more...I'm Mrs. "C"... I work with Steve-FL, putting together military manuals. I love my job, and the people I work with. Grew up in Southern AZ, met a NY Italian Sailor and we've been married 8 years. We have his 17 yr. old daughter from a previous marriage. We also have 5 dogs. I'm very impressed with the KT and all it represents.
Murphy IN I'm 44. My body is falling apart like an old jalopy. Thinking about changing my name as "Murphy's Law" applies way too often. I'm happily married,(so far). Have two beautiful DD's. 21 and 17. My oldest Vanessa is a "newbie" to the KT. Am a SAHM, however those days are coming to an end. (looking for new title. Don't want to work, just looking for a title). *G*. I love embroidery, fishing, crafts and sewing. Use to read til I found you guys. My new interests are what all of you are up to. My habits are, smoking, cracking my knuckles, and sucking my stupid teeth. (that one annoys even me)! I tend to joke and goof around way too much. Love being around people, but consider myself shy. Mushy-Central Calif -Howdy folks, i'm 34 and am a cowgirl at heart, and a real tough cookie to the core.
