Your world had been attacked by some otherwordly race of cute girls, and you had fallen into their clutches once they got to your town. You had tried to struggle but you were outnumbered, and it wasn't long until you succumbed to whatever they had been doing to you because you soon found yourself losing consciousness. At least that was what you had thought... You seemed to be awake but, as far as you could tell, you were surrounded by darkness. And then a voice behind you inspired you to turn around, and you were greeted by the sight of one of those evil, otherwordly females, one of which that you recognized as being among the group that had broken into your home. You threatened and cursed her, acted tough and hoped to gain control of the situation, but you began to realize that you were at her mercy when she took care of your physical assault as if you had been a gnat flying around her head. And then, once you pulled back and resigned yourself to whatever they had planned for you in this place, she guided you to a mirror that you had not known to have existed before. Once there, she told you to look into the mirror... The mirror of your soul. You did, not seeing any harm in doing so despite feeling a little anxious about what you might find there... And you got the shock of your life. Even as the girl told you that you were right in thinking that you were already one of them, you began to realize the why of it all. You had been a victim of a race of demons that knew how to send spiritual races, such as the Aeternalae, back into the cogs of reincarnation, to be sucked into its endless, pointless recycling, bound to physical vessels that did not naturally share a connection with the spirit within. Even as you grasped this, you could feel your self-image changing in your dreamscape, reflecting your soul just as your soul reflected you. And still you were stunned despite never having truly been human in the first place, because the realization of leading a false existence was a new experience for you. And there was no telling how many false existences you had led before this one, because the physical forms did't carry on any memory from one to the next, nor did the spirit take the memory of the body. And then you remembered some dreams that you had had as a human, ones that had seemed like a past life to your human self. Now you knew what life they came from. |
