Chapter 7

Quatre woke up after a pleasant night's sleep. Keeping his eyes shut, he breathed in slowly through his nose. The personal musk of Heero Yuy was still strong.

When he opened his eyes, he was surprised when he saw that Heero was still there. Quatre laid still, taking the image before him and carving it deep into his memory.

He's so peaceful, Quatre thought. When he's not killing, that is. With a finger, Quatre traced lightly from Heero's cheek, to his jaw, then to his lips.

So beautiful, Quatre thought. He leaned in and lightly kissed Heero on his lips. Suddenly he felt Heero respond.

Quatre pulled back, having been taken by surprise. "Hey!" He exclaimed. He took in Heero's smug look. "How long have you been awake?" Quatre asked.

"Five minutes." He replied. Quatre chuckled, and kissed him again.

"I wish we had met under different circumstances." Quatre said, snuggling up to Heero.

"As far as I can see, this was probably the only way we'd meet." Heero replied. "Each of us living in different colonies, you know?"

"You think it was destiny that brought us here?"

"No."

"Why's that?"

"I don't really believe in destiny. Just luck."

I believe in destiny." Quatre said. "I mean, we can't just be wandering around in life without a purpose. That's what seperates us from the animals."

Heero nuzzled Quatre's neck. "You have so many good opinions, Quatre." He said.

Quatre looked into Heero's eyes. Gets easier every time, he thought. "Do you realize that you're as beautiful as an angel?"

Heero looked away with a bitter chuckle. "Do not compare me to such a pure being. I'm not worthy of such a comparison."

"Don't talk like that." Quatre said. "You are beautiful, and nothing less."

"Why...do you say such things?" Heero said, confused.

"Because I believe them to be true. Because that is what you are." Quatre caressed Heero's face. "Because I love you."

Heero moved as close as possible to Quatre and started kissing his neck. Quatre ran his fingers through his lovers' thick, dark hair. Then they held each other, not wanting to let go, yet knowing it was inevitable. Eventually they got up and got dressed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sally, Wufei!" Noin called as the two exited the shuttle and Gundam, respectivly.

"Well, looks like we have the full compliment now." Duo said to Quatre. It was a few days later, and they had contacted Sally and Wufei on the Peacemillion.

"Did you hear about Zechs' new battleship, Libra?" Sally said.

Noin looked sad. "Yes, I have." She had admitted to Quatre that she loved Zechs, and Quatre felt sorry for them both, because duty was getting in the way of their love. Quatre had told her as much, and she had said that things will work out in time.

Wufei approached the other four pilots. "I see that everyone's here." He said.

"Yes," Heero said. "But our Gundams aren't all in working order. They're still upgrading the Heavyarms for space, and they're almost finished with the repairs on Deathscythe."

"Well, my Shenlong is in need of a few repairs as well." Wufei said. "I guess we'll be here for a while." He walked out of the hangar, most likely to find a room to stay in.

"Real chatty, isn't he?" Duo said. Just then Sally and Noin made their way over.

"Hello, Ms. Po." Quatre said, bowing.

"Don't be so formal." Sally smiled at him. "Just call me Sally."

"Alright." Sally and Noin went on their way. Quatre turned to Trowa.

"Would you like to get your flute and come to my room? We can play a duet." He said.

"That sounds good." Trowa said.

"Do you mind if I watch?" Heero said.

Quatre smiled. "Not at all." He turned to Duo. "How about you?"

"Nah. I'm gonna go and get something to eat. Like chocolate."
Next Time...
