"Sire, there is some disturbing news." Rubius said, bowing in front of Prince Diamond's throne.
Emerald and Black Pearl were rolling on the ground. Black Pearl was by far the better fighter. She was stomping Emerald. Diamond rounded the corner and his worst fear was met: Emerald was beating up Black Pearl. As he watched, he was vaguely surprised to find that it was his mistake: Black Pearl was beating up Emerald. He was torn between breaking it up- as he knew he should or watch Emerald's 'once-so-high-and-mighty' dignity get shattered. Sapphire decided for him.
"My dear, you look pale, Are you all right?" He asked, stopping and supporting her swaying frame.
"I-…….I'm fine… just a bit disorientated. And…. A bit light-headed……" She collapsed into his arms. He sat down on the ground with her and held her close. They waited there until Black Pearl could stand. Then they continued down the corridor.
"My dear, I beg your pardon, but there is some business in the Main hall that I must ah, attend to. It seems Emerald and Rubius have started another slugfest. You are by no means a prisoner here, so feel free to wander as you please." He said, lightly kissing her on his way out.
Sighing, Black Pearl started to wander about he endless halls. Soon, though, she heard the sound of footsteps. They sounded like high-heels. Sure enough, a "christmas Tree" rounded the corner, as Black Pearl was distinctively reminded of.
"Hey! Stop! Who are you! Tresspasser!"
"Moi?" Black Pearl asked innocently.
"Yes! You! Stop!" Emerald ran up to where Black Pearl was standing. She grabbed Black Pearl by the arm and began to lead her away. "We're going to see Prince Diamond!"
"Uhh…. No need. I've already seen him." Black Pearl said, carefully removing herself from Emerald's grip.
"What?"
"We've met."
"Hey…"
"What?"
"Your hair…" Emerald walked around behind Black Pearl and poked at her hair. "Isn't this…Sailor Moon's style?" She said, lightly toughing one of the Meatballs.
"Um…"
"Hey…you must be… the hair…WHY YOU LITTLE INSUBORDINANT…" Black Pearl closed her eyes and tuned out the droning on of the chain of profane that followed.
"Crazy Baka." She muttered. Instantly Emerald pounced all over Black Pearl. The two went tumbling all over the floor. Hair was sprawled hither and yon. Black Pearl made sure to destroy the dumb fan. It could cause and asthma attack.
"What is it?" He asked, disturbed.
"It seems someone has attacked Emerald… I personally wouldn't mind letting her get the feathers beaten out of her…"
"Me neither, but don't tell her I said that. I'll get an earful forever if I don't become her 'knight in shining armor.' I just hope it isn't Black Pearl."
"Who?"
"No one." He said.
"Sapphire, come with me."
"And me, Sire?"
"No. you stay, Rubuis." His face fell as he watched the princes walk out.
"Onii-san? Who's that taking out Emerald?"
"My dear brother, that Serenity's evil."
"Evil? Serenity?" t this Sapphire broke out in laughter. Diamond just raised and eyebrow at his brother.
"Did I just miss something?"
"You told me she was flawless!!!!"
"Emerald? No. She's far from that! First, there's the laugh, then the style, she has such bad taste-"
"No. Precious Serenity." He mimicked.
"She is flawless."
"The queen of all goodness and pureness? Evil? Is that not a flaw?"
"Sometimes good is just another form of evil."
Sapphire thought about it for a while.
"While you're pondering, I'm going to stop this." He walked over to the catfight. Emerald saw him and threw Black Pearl off. She waited for him to pick her up and kiss her and hug her and… She realized her face was turning red.
"My Prince you saved me." She said, locking her arms around his waist.
"Emerald, if I wanted a hug, I would ask for one. Please get your hands off me." Black Pearl wrinkled her nose. Then he walked over to Black Pearl. Helping her up, he kissed her lightly.
"My dear… you're all right! Thank evilness!" He exclaimed hugging her tightly. (AN: PUN intended. ^_^) Emerald fumed. She tapped her fan against her chin and got scratched by the rough edges. This uncomfortably reminded her it was broken. She materialized a brush from no where. Emerald ran it through her hair.
"Um… You Evilness?"
"Yes…Emerald? And no, you can't use my bath towel again for the spas. Last time there was green hair all over it." Emerald turned red. Sapphire snickered. She shot him an evil glare.
"No… would you care to escort me to my chambers… so she doesn't attack me again?" Suddenly the figure in Diamond's arms sprang to life in fury.
"WHAT do you mean? YOU'RE the one who attacked ME, and all that other stuff." Diamond, eyeing the flushing Emerald, decided to break up the oncoming storm before it started. Grabbing her arm, Diamond dragged the screeching Emerald away. Black Pearl sighed. Sapphire came out of the shadows and sat beside her.
"Huh? Sapphire?" She asked bewildered.
"Yeah…you want to go talk some place?"
"Sure! Like, where?"
"My chambers… er, I have something I want to show you."
"O...K..." He led her towards his chambers. Opening a door, Black Pearl gasped. Instead of the bookshelves lined with hundreds of books as she expected, there WERE a lot of shelves, but they contained all kinds of instruments and some kind of glowing orb. All the orbs had different colored centers. They looked like atoms constantly changing color. Sapphire strode confidently to one of the many shelves and plucked an orb. Plopping it into Black Pearl's hands, it began to float and hovered just above her hands.
"Wow…" She breathed as it changed colors.
"It's yours. If you like it."
"R-really?" He nodded, watching in fascination as it held her spellbound.
"Of course. But…I couldn't possible have such a beautiful object."
"Keep it…Please." He said, eyeing her.
"Really?" she asked again. He nodded again. She smiled gratefully, and clutched it tightly to her chest.
"I- I need to tell you something…"
"He leaned down closely next to her and looked her straight in the eyes. They were very close. Suddenly I horse whisper was heard outside the door.
"Traitor." They turned and saw Diamond staring at them.
