"I'll Never Say I Love You"
I'll never say I love you
I'm making this totally clear
I do not wish to tell you things
You do not wish to hear
I've waited and I've sacrificed
Almost everything I've got
But I can't pretend that you're in love
When it's obvious you're not
I'll never love another soul
The way that I love you now
I'll simply have to close my heart
Even though I'm not quite sure how
I'll never tell you I want you
No matter how truly much I do
So don't you worry, not at all
I'll never say "I love you"
"When We Were Kids"
Thinking about when we were kids
All the great things we did
Sitting in your dining room
Wonderin who would have the first kid
I guess I beat you all to it
And I'm glad for that too
Cuz bein the oldest made me feel
Like I had to take care of you
They turned our favorite skating rink
Into a hardware store
And so many things that we knew then
Just aren't there anymore
The things we liked when we were young
Our kids will never know
But they'll have things we never had
That's how the future goes
When they look back to their younger years
They'll talk and laugh the same
Except they'll talk about e-mail and cell phones
And their messenger screennames
It's fun to look back to see our past
But look to the future some
Cuz our future lies in our children
Those here and those to come
"Riches"
If I had all the money in the world
I'd buy you the world itself
For what's the point of riches
When you lack all other wealth?
If I had a mountain of gold
I'd make you a thousand rings
For what's the point of beauty
If you can't enhance the other things?
All the good things in the world
Are nothing if I don't have you
For what's the point of love
When you have no one to give it to?
"All Good Things"
I thought about you in my dreams
I wonder if you miss me
I wonder if you think of me
Or remember what it's like to kiss me
I thought we could stay friends
We made it through alot
But time I guess changes a person
And I guess our friendship got shot
I thought I could be satisfied
With loving you as a friend
But now I know that friendship
Must sometimes come to an end
I suppose you had to be released
With the ideals of my youth
But sometimes I think of you
And I'll give the honest truth
You were there when no one else was
You gave me hope for my life
My tears graced your shoulder many times
And you listened to my strife
But all good things my end someday
And this was such a thing
Just remember you're still in my heart
Even though now tears you bring...

I even have reviews!!!
"Jaime Boyden, in 'The Burdens of Being Human,' writes a wonderful style of poetry that is both rhythmic and meaningful. Her words are well-chosen; her verse is well-written; each poem speaks directly to the heart. The passion, the feeling, the heartbreak, just about every emotion you can think of can be found and felt within this book. I would recommend 'The Burdens of Being Human' highly.

"Jaime Boyden's poetry book entitled, The Burdens of Being Human, is the best poetry I have read in a long time. This book really touched my heart, full of wisdom and gracefully written. Jaime has a way of describing the feelings we all go through in different situations of life. This book has everything; she has a true poet's heart.

"Jaime Boyden has a natural flair for writing impassioned poetry. Most of us can relate to the feelings she conveys of the highs and lows associated with love, love that didn't work out, or unrequited love. To read her work, is to be taken on an inspiring journey of emotions.

"If you've ever felt lonely, lost, or hopelessly in love, this is the poetry collection for you. Jaime Boyden's instincts for emotional angst is unparalleled. She verbalizes those feelings that tug at your heart strings, and every verse seems to hit you right where you live. Jaime has an uncanny knack for nailing the mark dead center. If you love poetry, this is a compilation you won't want to miss.
