She is pretty cool. She started out as parts swimming around in her twin's body (her twin sort of absorbed her in the developement process) Black Jack removed her and gave her a body. (such a nice guy!)

Seriously, what is his "tragic secret"?

Well, in the manga, he had to give his girlfriend a sex change (she got ovarian cancer) and in the anime they don't exactly say, but it's a reasonable assumption that his mother died in the car accident that scarred him. (This I have figured from watching the opening, they never say for sure)

In the anime his scar is on the left side of his face, but in the manga it's on the right! Why?

You know, I wondered this myself before, and then the answer was obvious. It is always on the left side, it's just that when the manga was translated, they had to reverse the art, making his scar appear on the right side of his beautiful face.
