Name:Rei Ayanami Age: 14 Pilot Of: EVA Unit 00

Rei Ayanami, is a quiet and serene character, who hides a grim secret. She is actually a clone, that Gendo Ikari concocted. He made her in the likeness of his dead wife Yui. She is also implanted in the dummy plugs. Naoko Akagi, strangles Rei to death, after discovering Gendo's affair, before committing suicide. Rei is brought back. Rei kills herself, in an attempt of marytrdom, and she is brought back. No one in NERV, except a few, know Rei is a clone, until her secret is discovered. Gendo just said, she was a girl he adopted. Rei is closer to Gendo, than Shinji is, and she shows almost no emotion to anyone besides Gendo.

Name: Asuka Langely Sohryu Age: 14 14 Pilot Of: EVA Unit 02

Asuka Langely Sohryu, is another emotionally disturbed girl. She is extremely intelligent, but she does poorly in school, due to her native language being German, and the test being in Japanese. She hasn't mastered the language. Her mother went crazy and killed herself, and Asuka is emotionally scarred because of it. In the end, she cannot synchronize with her EVA, because she is so frusterated, and self-esteem and confidence are shot. She loves Kaji, but in a childlike to adultlike manner. Although she is beautiful, and can get every male she wants, she finds most boring and only wants Kaji.

Name: Toji Suzuhara Age: 14 Pilot Of: EVA Unit 03

Although his career as an EVA pilot is extremely short, he plays an important role in NGE. He is a strong boy, who can be a bully, but he cares for his sister, who is in the hospital, after an accident with an EVA battle. In fact, he only becomes a pilot, so his sister with be moved to the NERV hospital. While testing out Unit 03, it turns bad, due to the dominant angel Bardiel inside. Unit 01, inserts the dummy plug, and 03 is pulverized. Toji is almost killed (in the manga, he is killed), and Shinji is sad.

Name: Misato Katsuragi Job:Major/Captain

Misato is a tomboyish lady, who happens to be the sole survivor of the Katsuragi Expedition. She joins NERV, and throughout the show, she is the captain and the major (she gets promoted). She is Shinji's guardian, and has a pet penguin named Penē. After the Katsuragi Expedition, she didn't talk for two years, and then she met Kaji, and fell in love. Misato broke up with him though, after she realized, he reminded her, too much of her father. She also has many emotional scars, and can be very depressed at times. When Kaji is assasinated, she is broken, and her lasting friendship with Ritsuko, falls apart quickly.

Name: Gendo Ikari Job: NERV Commander

Gendo Ikari, is a the cold, commander of NERV. He has a poor relationship with Shinji, and is heartbroken from the loss of his wife Yui. He cannot accept her death, so he creates Rei. After her death, he has an affair with Naoko Akagi, and while having the affair with her, has another nested affair, with her daughter, Ritsuko. You can see, he is a very ethically corrupt man. He uses Yui and Fuyutski to get NERV, so he can accomplish instrumentality, and is constantly doing things behind SEELE's back, and the backs of his comrades.

Name: Ritsuko Akagi Job:NERV Head Technician

Ritsuko, is another troubled woman, who is driven insane by her corruption. She inherits her mothers job, and works with the MAGI alot. She heads the research, and saves NERV many a time. Although it is unsteady, she has a friendship with Misato, which is destroyed by the ending events. Ritsuko is in on all of Gendo Ikari's secret schemes, along with Fuyutski, and she is the one that reveals them in the end.

Name: Kaji Ryoji Job: NERV Special Inspector/Japanese Spy

Kaji is a NERV member, but is secretly a spy from the Japanese government, sent to investigate NERV's secret plans. He hangs around there, a whole lot though. He is a "ladies man" in some fashion, "playful," and he has a relationship with Misato, although, it is seperated by disgust and denial, and then brought back. Kaji finds out about NERV, and gives Misato the information. Eventually, NERV catches on, and Kaji is assasinated by NERV Intelligence. Before he is killed, he gives Misato a tablet with a chip in it, telling her the secrets of NERV. Kaji is a good man, and enjoys watching things grow. It is a sad moment when he dies.

Name:Makoto Hyuga           Job: NERV Liutenant Name:Shigeru Aoba           Job: NERV Liutenant Name:Kouzou Fuyutski           Job: NERV Commander Name:Maya Ibuki           Job: NERV Liutenant

The three NERV liutentants, play a minimal role compared to the other characters. They are always with Ritsuko and Misato at the MAGI control panel area, and get very tense during battle times. Makoto is very strong willed, and Shigeru is a hardcore music fan. Maya is kind of the desciple of Ritsuko. All together, they effect the plot, but not a whole lot (hee hee, that ryhmes! ::regains attention::) Fuyutski plays a bigger role, but still not as large as any of the other NERV personnel. He was a Kyoto professor, and Yui Ikari was his top pupil. She introduced him to Gendo, and later on the two met, and became commanders in arms. Although Fuyutski knows most of Gendo's ploys, but he still isn't entirely informed.
