Seasons

Daisuke and Ken were talking. Not about anything important, really, it just felt like a day to spend laying in the grass. They both stared up at the sky which would normally have been full of the largest fluffy white clouds but today was the perfect impression of an overturned blue bowl. Ken turned his head to smile at the side of Daisuke's face as he ran a blade of grass through his fingers thoughtfully.

He could hear Wormmon and Veemon goofing off nearby, both unsatisfied with the boys idea of spending the afternoon lying around. Ken smiled to himself. To be perfectly honest, Wormmon probably wouldn't have minded the lazy afternoon, but he would never let Veemon know. Daisuke must have felt Ken's stare because he suddenly turned to face him.

"Penny for your thoughts." Daisuke teased. Ken smiled, lowering his eyes a bit as he did so and only increasing the pensive look on his face.

"I don't know," he replied, meeting Daisuke's eyes again, "I guess I was trying to remember if it was spring or fall." Ken gave a small shrug. Daisuke's had came up to caress his cheek momentarily before he replied.

"I don't guess remember," he said, "Does it matter?" Ken gave a small chuckle at his response.

"Getting a little metaphysical?" he asked, his smile fading briefly as everything he should be doing came rushing back.

"Its the weather," came Daisuke's nonchalant reply, then, "Do you have to go back?" Ken smiled, taking his chance to run his fingers over Daisuke's face, his lips.

      "No, not yet."
