The stuffed animal like creature is supposed to be the guardian beast of the clow cards, guarding the seal. In his long years long nap he didn’t notice the cards were set free. I emphasise beast, in Kero, but his powers have slowly degraded during his nap, and maybe because his powers in the cards are gone too. He looks so cute and cuddly, but his big gob makes you rethink about him. He is a very wise little orange thing, and he can also speak many languages, and he is also a bit self-centred (he thinks about himself too much). Because he is selfish, he can appear to be pushy and arrogant, but he is so cute no one cares. He is Sakura's guide in her quest to get back all of the Clow Cards. He tends to be very protective over Sakura; he always sticks up for her, whether it was from Li, Meilin, or her best friend. His weak spot is pudding. Any thing sweet would make Kero be your friend for life.
Once Sakura got the Firey card, Kero felt his powers returning, and sprinkled magical dust over the all. It was so pretty. Kero doesn’t have enough energy and power to transform back into his Keroberos beast form, so his appearance as a toy is semi-permanent. Poor Kero! Kero does not like Li, he often calls him "The Brat" or "The Kid". When Li responds with insults, Kero bites him (he likes Li’s finger).
