Seeing this, Mitsuru wanted to emulate Touga and become Nanami's big brother. At the time of the Black Rose Saga, Mitsuru is facing the pains of emerging adolescence. He's frustrated over his feelings for both Nanami and his friend, Mari. It is through this frustration and confusion that Mikage turns him into a Black Rose Duelist. His duel is called "Impatience."
