Chapter 3*~
“You
look really nice...” I looked her over. Her hair finally was left hanging over
her shoulders, giving me the all good signal which was great for me. She smiled
and I knew it was a quick thank you. Today was her birthday and they were
throwing a party for her. She wasn’t very big on parties. She always had to act
so shy. Ha, her shy. I heard little feet and looked up at Dana who was smiling
widely. “You look sharp baby girl. I like the dress when did you get that?”
“Yesterday
when me and grandma went out...” She smiled widely and jumped into Justin’s
arms. “You look nice daddy.”
“Thanks,
I try my best to look good.” I kissed her on her forehead and sat her down on
the couch and looked at Aaliyah who was holding on to her stomach. “Are you
ok?”
“The
baby just kicked. I’m fine...”
I
did fail to mention that Aaliyah is nine months pregnant didn’t I. Oh well you
know now, but it’s been a mess but thankfully she’ll be going into the hospital
tomorrow since it’s her due date. It’s a boy. I wanted to know, she didn’t but
I won the debate, as usual. I’m sure she wanted to kick my ass, but she can do
it some other time. “Well as long as your fine we’re good right?” I watched her
nod and smiled softly. “Lets go alright? You have some partying to do.”
~*Later that night*~
She
looked at me from the other side of the room. Her eyes full of lust and nothing
but sexual thoughts. I turned and looked the other way. Hoping that she would
catch on to the fact that she was annoying the shit out of me. She looked me
over and I heard her feet coming towards me. How did I here it over the music?
I have no idea. Maybe it was because I was on my fifth drink of the night and
it just made me wonder; why the hell do I continue to drink? I heard Dana’s
voice and turned around to look at her as she ran past with her little cousin
Kayla. They had been running around most of the night, mostly messing around
with Aaliyah’s hair as she talked to her friends. She approached me and sighed.
“What do you want?”
“You,
and you should know that.”
“Kim
I think you should leave, or at least get away from me.” Kimberly Lake was a
friend of Aaliyah’s who had been trying to sleep with me for the past three
years. She laughed at me and pushed her blond hair over her shoulders. Damn those
blonds. “I really don’t have the patience tonight.”
“Aww
poor baby. Is something wrong? Is she not treating you right honey.”
Bitch
I will show you not treating someone right. “Whatever Kim, I’m out of here.” I
looked at her and walked past her. I couldn’t stand it anymore I had to go. I
walked up to Aaliyah and looked her in her eyes. “I’m leaving.”
“Why?
It’s not even eight...”
“Look
I’m not feeling to great, and you go right ahead and stay. I’ll be fine,
besides Dana is having too much fun right now anyway. I’ll just see you when
you get home...” I knew right then when I walked away from her that I shouldn’t
have left her there. Not without me at least. Instead I went home.
~*4 hours later*~
I
woke up at the sound of the phone. I reached over; yawning; answering the
phone. “Hello...”
“Hi
daddy...”
“Dana?
Honey where are you?”
“At
the hospitable...”
“You
mean the hospital honey?”
“You
knew what I meant daddy.” She answered in a playful tone.
“What
are you doing there? Is everything alright?”
“Mommy
is here. I don’t know what happened, but grandma brought me here and told me to
call you.”
“Damn,
I’ll be there in half an hour.” I hung up the phone and hurried there as fast
as I could but I could only pray for the best. Damn, why did my life have to be
so hard.
~*30 minuets later*~
“Diane
what happened?”
“Aaliyah
passed out. We got her here but we found out that the baby is in trouble...they
said they could save the baby but...Aaliyah may not survive.”
“WHAT?”
I yelled. There was no way I was about to let her die. No way in fucking hell.
“You’re not considering...”
“No,
I told her not to do it, but Aaliyah insisted on it.”
“She
did what?”
“Well
it’s her decision and even if we said no, we have no say because it’s her
decision. We can only pray for the best.”
So
there was a chance my wife would die. That she would not survive. As much as I
wanted my son to live, my wife was more important to me. I sighed and sat down
next to Dana who was looking at me.
“Daddy
it’ll be alright...”
I
looked up with tears in my eyes and felt her little hand on my face as she
wiped my tears. “I know honey...I know...”
