Chapter 1
The Fight

“Moeagaru, you chicken!” Moeagaru heard as he ran away from the fight erupting behind him. “I can’t turn back now… Kaiiki would kill me!” he thought racing away leaving a trail of flames in his wake. He dodge the dark leaved trees as continued on his way before he heard a high pitched scream of agony in the direction from which he came. “Kaiiki!” He thought panicked.

“Moeagaru!” Kaiiki screamed throwing her head back in pain, “Damn him…” she muttered as she let out another scream of pain, “GO AWAY!” She yelled and reached to her side pulling out her light blue sword. She looked the demon in the eye before feeling a warm thick liquid sliding down her face. Ignoring it she charged at the black demon and swung her blade cutting right through it. She collapsed to her knees and dropped her sword watching as the demon regenerated infront of her eyes. “How… can this be the end?” she thought closing her eyes as the demon approached her.

“Kaiiki!” a voice called charging through the forest. Kaiiki barley opened her eyes to see a woman in green waved her hand shooting thick vines toward the demon.

“Tsuta…” Kaiiki muttered before falling back and entering a world of a dark creepy black. “I’m… dead…” She thought as her eyes fully closed. Tsuta growled lowly seeing Kaiiki fall, her dark blue silk dress only fit for a goddess torn and shredded, with her blood soaking through.

“Blasted Demon!” She muttered and threw out her other hand wrapping it thick ivy and weeds, pulling them to make them tighter. She turned her head back quickly hearing a rustling in the bushes and trees behind her, “Where were you Moeagaru?” she muttered with venom in her voice. She walked closer to the demon and tied the ivy and vines in a thick knot. She left the demon struggling and squirm in the vine and ivy cocoon, kneeling by Kaiiki before lifting her up. Moeagaru guiltily walked out of the forest and over to Kaiiki and Tsuta.

“I… I was afraid to die…” Moeagaru muttered.

“So you left Kaiiki, your fiancée to die?!” Tsuta screamed. She looked down at Kaiiki who groaned from the noise, “I’m sorry Kaiiki, go back to sleep…” Once Kaiiki calmed and closed her eyes, Tsuta looked over at Moeagaru with a scowl, “I wouldn’t be surprised that there’d be no wedding after this! I’m going to have to tell Makkura and Kashoku about this… Goodness forbids that Tatsumaki find out!”

Moeagaru winced and looked down in shame, “I… I’m sorry Tsuta…”

“Don’t tell ME sorry Moegaru! I’m not the one passed out from loss of blood because my fiancée ran off!” Tsuta walked past Moeagaru into the dark forest and Moeagaru blinked some.

“Crap… Tsuta wait!!!” Moeagaru shouted panicked. He winced as he heard Tsuta scream and she came rushing out of the forest red faced with Kaiiki in her arms, “I’m really sorry Tsuta!! I was scared and ran!!” Moeagaru rushed, “I’m sorry!!”

Tsuta growled deeply and moved a bush out of the way to show a burned down forest, “THAT IS IT MOEAGARU! I’M GOING TO TELL TATSUMAKI EVERYTHING, YOU HAVE DONE WRONG TODAY!” She screamed and Moeagaru frowned some.

“Please don’t Tsuta!! I promise I won’t screw up like this again!” He pleaded. Tsuta laid Kaiiki on the ground softly before walking over to Moeagaru slapping hard.

“Don’t EVER, come near me, or Kaiiki again Moeagaru! I’m so serious! The only time I wish to see you, is when we get back to headquarters and Tatsumaki fires you and gets rid of your memories of US and your fire powers! You will just be poor little 20 year old William again!” Tsuta said coldly and picked up Kaiiki again rushing off.

Moeagaru sighed and followed after her as they headed back to headquarters. “Then I want to say goodbye to Kaiiki… my Harley… my one and only love…” He muttered as they disappeared into the black ashes, the remains of the forest.

“What?!” Tatsumaki yelled looking down upon Moeagaru. Moeagaru looked away in shame toward Kaiiki who sat in a chair looking down with an angry expression on her face. She was in her ‘human’ clothes. Her short sleeved purple tee-shirt with her light baby blue sweater underneath. Moeagaru could see the legs of her pants. The ones he bought for her when they went shopping. They were a light royal blue with two big gray cumulonimbus clouds with rain and lightning underneath. He sighed and looked back at Tatsumaki.

“He abandoned Kaiiki leaving her to die, and burnt down my forest sir!” Tsuta responded loudly so everyone could hear. She looked down at Moeagaru in disgust before turning back to Tatsumaki. Moeagaru looked back toward Kaiiki to see her staring at him. Her eyes watered and guilt filled him more. She stood up and took off running out of the room.

“Kaiiki!” Kashoku called and stood up, “Persmission to leave sir?” She looked at Tatsumaki. He gave a nod and a shooing hand causing Kashoku to run off after Kaiiki.

“I order you, Moegaru, to give Kaiiki an honest, loving apology and pack your stuff… we’ll be looking for a new fire god in the morning when we send you home.” Moegaru looked down tears filling his eyes.

“Y-Yes sir…” He muttered turning around heading out of the room. Tsuta looked over at Tatsumaki and he sighed.

“So he’s really leaving sir?”

“Of course… he endangered a fellow ruler, second in command no less! She could have died because of the abandonment… Thanks to you Tsuta, she’s alive…”

Tsuta nodded and looked toward the door. She felt a hand be placed on her shoulder and she looked back at Tatsumaki, “What is it Tatsumaki?”

“I would like to promote you to the second most powerful god position Tsuta,” He smiled, “You have been working hard and now that Kaiiki is injured and can’t fight for a few weeks, I’d like you to replace her…”

Tsuta smiled some, “So, what does Kaiiki become?”

“She will still be second in command, just with a fellow goddess…” He smiled and Tsuta noticed how old and sick Tatsumaki was becoming.

“Wait… Tatsumaki… You aren’t putting me in second of command now because of your illness are you?”

Tatsumaki smiled a light smile, “I’m afraid so Tsuta… My 150 birthday is arriving in a week and I’m afraid that once I reach that age, I will become unable to perform my needed task because of my illness… Kaiiki is the rightful leader… she is in fact my great granddaughter.”

Tsuta nodded and frowned, “But she is still very young Taksumaki… She is only 18… just graduated from High School…”

“This is why I assigned you second in command Tsuta… You are turning 37 in the next month, you are not naïve…”

Tsuta frowned some and sighed, “Yes sir… we will miss you sir… all very much…”

“As will I miss you all…” He smiled, “Now go check to see if my great granddaughter is alright and make sure William is packed…”

Tsuta’s eyes widened, “Sir… you have never called Moegaru that name… Only Kaiiki is called by her human name…”

Tatsumaki nodded, “And I don’t unless the person is leaving, but since Harley is family, I call her by the name her mother gave her. Now go follow orders and go check on Harley.” Tsuta nodded and gave a polite bow before turning and running out of the room.

“Kaiiki!” Kashoku yelled chasing Kaiiki down a hallway, “Stop Kaiiki!” Kaiiki kept running crying, “HARLEY!” She cried. And Kaiiki stopped. She turned back and frowned waiting for Kashoku to catch up.

“Don’t call me Harley!” She cried and went to slap Kashoku but her hand was caught. Kaiiki looked over to see Makkura holding onto her wrist.

“Calm down Kaiiki…” He said calmly, “Don’t go nuts and slap Kashoku for calling you by a human name…”

“Thank you brother…” Kashoku said and smiled at Makkura. Makkura nodded and looked back at Kaiiki. Tears were streaked on her face and he released her wrist. He moved out from behind Kashoku and Kaiiki jumped on Makkura hugging him tightly. Makkura blinked and smiled some hugging her back looked at Kashoku. She smiled and nodded, “I’ll leave you two alone then since you have it under control Makkura…”

“Alright sister…” Makkura responded and Kashoku smirked at him before walking off. Kaiiki continued to cry and Makkura hugged her tightly. He looked up to see William looking at them and Makkura let Kaiiki go. She looked up at him and then seeing him looking at someone else behind them she turned and saw William.

“Kaiiki…” He muttered and frowned looking at her then at Makkura. Kaiiki released Mukkura.

“Dude… it’s not what it seems…” Makkura said bringing his hands up. William clenched a fist and his eyes lit with fire.

“Just because I’m leaving, doesn’t mean she still isn’t my fiancée!” He replied lowly with a slight growl. His hands glowed with fire and he jumped toward Makkura attempting to punch him. Makkura easily side-stepped it and Kaiiki frowned her eyes glowing with soft tears.

“Knock it off William!” She replied. William turned to face her wide-eyed along with Makkura.

“What?” William replied.

“I said, Knock it off William!” She shouted.

“Even… in the human world… you’ve never called me William…”

“It’s different now, because you are no longer, Moeagaru…” She replied coldly, “You are banished, and yes, we are no longer engaged when you leave here! We aren’t because you will no longer have a memory of us and I don’t know who you are anymore!”

William closed his eyes and looked away and the fire surrounding him vanished. He turned and stalked off, heading to his room quietly.

“Kaiiki…” Makkura said quietly looking over at her. She looked down and brought up her left hand removing the ring. She glared at it and threw it after William closing her eyes tightly, “It’s okay Kaiiki…” He wrapped his arms around her and she cried into his chest. He sighed and felt someone tap him on the back. He looked over his shoulder and saw Tsuta standing there.

“Is she alright?” She asked looking at Kaiiki. She frowned in dismay and looked back to Makkura.

“No… but she will be…” He said quietly before looking back at Kaiiki.

“Come on Kaiiki… let’s go into your room and rest…” Tsuka said and Kaiiki let go of Makkura bowing in gratitude. Makkura smiled and watched as Kaiiki headed toward her room and then looked toward Tsuta.

“You really like don’t you Makkura?” She muttered watching Kaiiki. Makkura blushed some and shrugged.

“She’s Tatsumaki’s great granddaughter…” He said coolly. He saw a look of uttermost concern on Tsuta’s face, “What is it Tsuta?”

“Tatsumaki’s 150th birthday is coming… and I’m afraid we’ll need someone to replace him so he can finally rest… We not only need the Fire god or goddess… but now the wind…”She sighed, “Once Tatsumaki is gone… I’m the official second in command… and Kaiiki is the head leader…”

“Great… I’ll be the only boy…” He smirked. Tsuta kicked him and glared, “What?! I was making a joke out of this!”

“Seriously Makkura! Act your age!” She spat.

“I am… I’m only like… 24?” He smirked some.

“Well Kaiiki is 18 and she acts more mature than you do!”

“Kaiiki is also a beautiful young lady who actually finished high school!” He replied.

Tsuta smirked in satisfaction and turned, “Thank you for sharing…” Makkura blinked and blushed.

“No, Tsuta! I meant that most guys such as me, wait I mean, she’s hot... Gah! TSUTA!!” He cried chasing after her.

Tatsumaki sighed looking through his pictures of when he was young. He smirked as he saw when he just graduated from high school. He smiled and closed his eyes remembering that it was the day that he became one of the gods. He heard a light knock on the door and he opened his eyes, “Come in,” He beckoned. The door slowly opened and he saw his great granddaughter looking down at the ground.

“Tatsumaki, sir, the ceremony of your 150th birthday is starting…” Tears were beginning to cloud her eyes.

“Harley… Don’t cry my dear…” He stood up and walked over to her. She looked up at him and sniffeled, “It is not a sad day…”

“Yes it is Tatsumaki-” Tatsumaki had cut her off.

“Harley, I am your great grandfather… you should not call me by my god name…”

“But you are my leader sir…”

“Harley…”

“I don’t want to loose you Papa!” She cried hugging him. Tatsumaki smiled and hugged her back gently.

“You aren’t loosing me Harley…”

“You’ll be gone forever!! I don’t want to loose my only family!!” She cried. Tatskumaki frowned holding onto her.

“Why did Jishin and Niji die when Harley was so young?” He thought to himself and sighed releasing his great granddaughter.

“Harley… I’m intrusting the god company to you… you are my heir… and Tsuta will be working with you as Second in command…” Kaiiki shook her head.

“No…” She whispered, “I can’t! It would mean you are really gone!” She cried.

“I will be Harley…”

“No!”

“HARLEY!” Kaiiki stayed quiet as tears rolled down her cheeks, “It is final! When all Gods reach the age 150 and have an accumulating disease with them, they are put to death! It is a law that the first gods made…”

Harley frowned, “Can’t… they just freeze you?” She muttered. Tatsumaki blinked and smiled.

“They may be able to Harley… but I’d still be dead,” Kaiiki frowned some and sighed, “Don’t worry Harley… it’s the best…”

“Just… promise me you’d be frozen…”

“I promise…”

“Thank you Papa…” She said and smiled at him. She hugged him closely and the walked out of the room toward the ceremony.

Tatsumaki wrapped his arm around Kaiiki’s and walked with her as she supported him, “Oh Harley… I’ll finally be able to escape the pain…”

Kaiiki stayed quiet as they walked down the hallway, “C-Can I be sentenced to death too Papa?”

“Why would you want that Harley?”

“No reason Papa… don’t worry about it…”

Makkura slammed William against a wall, “You don’t EVER touch her again!” He spat lowly. William glared at Makkura and tried to struggle away, “You are causing Kaiiki pain! She’s mine now William! Get it through your head!”

“No, my memories aren’t gone yet! I’m not leaving until tomorrow morning! I love Kaiiki!” William spat back.

“If you loved Kaiiki, you wouldn’t have abandoned her and you wouldn’t have tried to rape her!”

Kaiiki laided huddle in a corner in a back room shaking. A red slap mark was on her face and she whimpered crying. “That’s not the Moeagaru I knew…” she thought quivering.

William frowned and pulled away from Makkura, “She doesn’t love you Makkura!”

“She doesn’t know who you are anymore William!”

“STOP IT!” Kashoku screamed running over to them. Tears rolled down her face and she slapped William, “You ugly Son of a Bitch!” She cursed. Makkura blinked at his sister, “Kaiiki won’t let anyone near her because of you! Her head is bleeding from where you hit her, and her clothes are torn!” Kashoku cried, “It’s your entire fault that she cries!!” She screamed and slapped William again.

Makkura grabbed his sister and pulled her away from William. He pointed at William glaring, “Don’t ever, touch her, or look at her again!”

~*~
“Harley…” Tatsumaki muttered, “William is long gone now… do not worry…”

“Yes Papa…” Kaiiki said softly.

They opened the doors and walked into the ceremony to one of the top tables. Kaiiki sat next to Tatsumaki who stood up causing everyone there to suddenly stop talking. Kaiiki smiled at Makkura who was wearing his normal black clothing with his long black hair covering one eye. He smiled back and Kaiiki looked over at Tatsumaki.

“As everyone knows, today is my 150th birthday…” Tatsumaki heard playful shouts of, “Old Man!” and “What a geaser!” He laughed along with everyone and Kaiiki saw the tears welling up in his eyes, “It’s been a long run and I’ve known most of you since when you were a baby! I’ve especially known, Kaiiki, my sweet Great Granddaughter since she was born… I was in the Emergency room with my granddaught on earth when she was born!”

“Aw Tatsumaki! Not the baby story!” Kaiiki moaned. Tatsumaki smiled at her.

“She was cutest thing since her mother was born, with big sparkling black eyes, and the cutest giggle, smile, and scream… I watched her from when she was a little baby… up to now, a successful 18 year high school graduate…” He smiled looking at Kaiiki. Her eyes clouded over with tears and she smiled at him.

“I wish… I’d still be around when you got married and when you had children, so I’d be a great great grandfather…” Kaiiki’s eyes over flooded with tears and she sniffled, “This is why Kaiiki… I’m entrusting you, as the Head Leader… because I know what goes on in that little head of yours… and it’s the best for the company…” Kaiiki stood up and hugged Tatsumaki silently crying.

“Oh Papa…” She muttered hugging him.

“It’s alright Harley…” He said stroking her blue hair.

Applause rang out and Makkura stood up walking up to the top table next to Kaiiki. Kaiiki released Tatsumaki and Makkura shook his hand, “You are going to be, the best thing that’s going to happen to my great granddaughter…”

Makkura smiled and looked over at Kaiiki, “Thank you sir…” Tatsumaki nodded and let go of Makkura’s hand as Makkura took Kaiiki’s hand and led her away from the table. Tatsumaki smiled watched them and sighed as Tsuta walked over to him.

“Cute Couple…”

“An unlikely couple too…”

“Who would have guessed…” Tsuta remarked and Tatsumaki looked at her, “Water and Darkness…”

“Much better than Fire and Water…”

“William… escaped with his memories sir…” Tsuta said quietly.

“I figured he would…” He sighed. He watched Kaiiki, “Do not tell Harley…”

“But sir…”

“Tsuta… Rachel… Do not tell her…” Tsuta nodded and looked at Tatsumaki.

“Why do you call me Rachel now?”

“Because I want to remember everyone’s human names… not their god ones… Makkura… he is Aaron… Kashoku, she is Rebecca… You are Rachel… Moeagaru was William… and Kaiiki is Harley…”

Tsuta looked over at Tatsumaki, “What was your name?”

“My name is Michael…” He smiled.

“Michael…” Tsuta muttered she smiled and shook his hand, “I’m Rachel…”

Tatsumaki smiled and shook her hand, “Nice to meet you Rachel… today is my birthday…”
