Jigoku-Sama’s "Restricted Romance"
CHAPTER 6: THE FRIENDSHIP Kai was awoken by the alarm clock that Mr. Akama had put on one of the tables. Kai rushed to get his apron on as it was fifteen minutes to opening. Kai put his coat and his old clothes into his small locker in the storage room. As he came out he was greeted by Mr.Akama. "Good morning Kai! Did you sleep well?" asked Mr. Akama. "Sure." " Remember, we open at 9:30am so get ready." Kai put his blanket and pillow away and then wiped the tables. After, he went onto the kitchen to assist Mrs. Akama with preparing the meals. The time came and went as Kai worked hard to keep Mr. Akama happy. Finally it was break time. Kai put on his coat and prepared to go walk around. "Remember Kai, come back in half an hour." said Mr. Akama "Don’t worry, I’ve got my watch on." said Kai. Kai decided to go on his little quest for friends. He was walking for a while until he came to a schoolyard with some kids his age, hanging out. He leaned against a pole near the group of kids, hoping to be noticed. After a while, one of the kids came over to him. "Hey, kid. Shouldn’t you be in school?" he asked. The boy had short black hair and was slightly shorter than Kai but above all he seemed friendly. "I don’t go to school." said Kai "Why, were you so dumb they kicked you out?" "No, I just got tired of school and dropped out." "No offence, your Japanese sucks, are you from out of town?" asked the boy. "Yeah, I’m from Hong Kong. I’ve only been here for two days and a half. I’m not familiar with this place." said Kai. The boy signaled for the rest of his friends to come over. There came two boys and four girls. " Where are my manners?" said the boy. "Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Suki." "It’s nice to meet you." said Kai. Suki pointed to a boy with long bleached hair hanging down on one side of his face. "This is Toshi." said Suki. He then pointed to the group of girls. One was tall with long hair and she had a sort of happy look on her face. "This is Kasumi." The second girl had short hair with clips in it and she seemed like a nice person. "This is Megumi." The third one had glasses and a ponytail. She was carrying a book. "This is Yuki ." The fourth one looked very friendly and had shoulder length hair. "This is Ayane." Ayane ran up to Kai and began shaking his hand vigorously. "It is so nice to meet you!" she said in a jolly mood. Suddenly, a smaller boy walked up to them. He had glasses on and he was carrying a math text. He stared at Kai. "Hey, is that a new student or something?" asked the boy. "No, this is Kai." said Suki. " He’s visiting from Hong Kong and we just met him." "Hi, welcome to Kyoto. I’m Daisuke." "It’s nice to meet you." said Kai. "Hey, Kai. I always wanted to learn some Chinese for business in the future." asked Daisuke. "And?" " Do you think you can teach me some of that?" asked Daisuke. "We’ll see." said Kai.
