CHAPTER 9: THE FORGIVENESS
Kai woke up and prepared for another hard day of work once again to the sound of the alarm clock. He couldn’t wait to get back to the school and see his friends if they were still his friends after the incident yesterday. He wanted to see them again but more importantly, he wanted to see Ai.
He worked patiently until his break. When the time came, he left the restaurant, and began to walk. He was at the schoolyard when he suddenly realised how bad the situation was. Yesterday, he decided to fight and then he ended up pulling his friends in and they got taken down to the headmaster’s office. Kai suddenly had second thoughts and began to walk away from the school. He was almost out of the school area when someone called him.
"Hey Kai!" Kai cringed. It was Suki and with him were all the people he had met yesterday. Kai was backing away from them in fear and preparing to run away. "Look guys, I’m sorry about yesterday. I’ll go tell the headmaster that it was my fault if it would help a..." "No! We’re not mad. Satoshi and his gang got in trouble thanks to their weapons and some of our fake tears." said Suki as he laughed. "Still, it was a close call. Aren’t you guys still mad?" said Kai. "Why do you still want to talk to me?" "We already said we’re not mad." said Toshi. "Besides, we figured you’re quite brave and stupid at the same time since you’re the first one to stand up to Satoshi." "You mean, you guys have always been afraid of him?" asked Kai. They nodded yes. "Come on, notice how he only sent his henchmen into the fight? That means he’s weak." Kai said trying to sound like he was never afraid when he actually was. "I guess." said Toshi as he shook his head. "So, what’s new considering you don’t go to school?"
"Well, after the fight, I went back to work, right?" said Kai. "And I noticed I dropped my apron. I figured just to continue with my work. Then a few hours later when school was letting out, a girl came to the restaurant. She returned my apron. I looked at her and she was beautiful. Her name was Ai. I hope I can see her again, she’s great." Every one was staring at Kai. "What? What’s wrong?" asked Kai "Nothing... um, we’re just surprised you met so many people in two days." said Toshi.
"I guess that’s quite impressive." said Kai. "I’m grateful you are the first people to talk with me without asking something about money or things like that." "Now you can tell us about you, Kai." said Brent. "All right but, I can’t have you guys laughing at some things ok?" said Kai. The group nodded yes. "Ok, here goes. I’m fifteen, and I never want to be a business man or a tycoon of any kind." Kai said, trying to make his description short. "Why would we laugh at that?" said Daisuke.
