Renzo's Rant

Kideo Controversy!

So I just happened to be on Wikipedia a few moments ago, and on a whim, decided to look up my favourite TV show-based band, Kideo. Imagine my shock when I discovered that the offical Wiki entry for Kideo is a blatant plagiarism of the article I wrote about them almost 2 years ago! There is nary a reference to RR on the page, which features only a single paragraph about the boys of Kids Can Rock and Roll. And yet fully 50% of the aforementioned paragraph is suspiciously similar to my article. I would like to submit the following evidence for the court's attention:

Exhibit A

Renzo: "The show was mostly educational, featuring all of the usual after-school morals like why you shouldn't put broken glass in other people's mouths, and how stabbing someone in the gut is not, contrary to popular belief, a victimless crime."

Wiki: " It featured the rock band Kideo, who, in each episode, performed various activities with the intent of teaching the child viewers a certain moral, often regarding proper manners."

Exhibit B

Renzo: "You might have noticed that the guys look like a cross between Kiss and a box of children's crayons. Presumably this was because it was a kid's show, but tried to pass itself off as 'radically rad' and 'totally tubular'(as were the styles at the time) by cashing in on Kiss' popularity."

Wiki: "Each member of the band wore vaguely KISS-like make-up, presumably to make the characters seem 'cool' to the show's young audience. In addition to the make-up, each member dressed in a different colour: Buddy was green, Ace was blue, and P.J. was red."

Exhibit C

Renzo: "Other features included a segment in which the drummer P.J. would don special glasses that allowed the viewer to see through his eyes (which in this case just so happened to be more of a video camera than eyes)."

Wiki: "One segment of the show featured P.J. donning special glasses that would allow the viewer to see the world 'through his eyes.'"

Exhibit D

Renzo: "And despite the title, the show's premise, and the fact that the characters were constantly seen carrying their instruments, there was in fact very little 'rock and rolling' in each episode."

Wiki: "It should be noted that, despite the premise of the show, music was rarely actually performed, aside from the theme song."

Am I the only one that find these two articles a little too similar? Now, this site has been the victim of plagiarism in the past (my Troy script made the web forum rounds a few years ago), but this is just unacceptable! If a guy can't write a half-assed article about a crappy kids' TV show without it popping up on a open-source, contributor-written online encyclopedia, then what is the world coming to? Citing Article 21.4B of the Internet Fair Use Terms & Agreement Act of 1997, I hereby proclaim sole ownership over Wikipedia and all subsidiaries thereof. Hand over the keys, Wiki mods, because I'm ready to take this bad boy for a spin.
