Alex got his first team chance when David Seaman was injured and many wondered how the England number one got back into the team after the young Austrians stunning performances in the Arsenal net.
Manninger is a trained mechanic but not surprisingly choose football as a proffession when he realised he could make it.
He may have to wait a few more years before he gains a regular first team spot, but if we can keep him happy until then we will have one of the best 'keepers in the world at our disposal.
