History: (JLA #52-54) - The Catherxis created Id, a sentient energy of turning wishes into reality, but lost control of it, and Id fled to the third dimension. They pursued it and feigning benevolence helped the JLA capture Id. They stopped pretending to be the JLA’s allies and wanted to test its power before leaving despite the fact that it was causing havoc on Earth. The JLA harnessed Id’s power to turn the Cathexis into 3-D beings, enabling them to defeat them and send them back to the sixth dimension with no knowledge of how to create sentient energy.
