Ganavan Sands,Oban by George Devlin

Here`s an interesting report from the May 2001 edition of the "Scottish Weekly News".

National Gallery in London Buys First Scottish Painting The world famous National Gallery in London's Trafalgar Square, which was founded in 1824, has purchased its first painting by a Scottish artist. "The Archers" is by Sir Henry Raeburn, an 18th century artist who was recognised during his lifetime, even in England, as an outstanding portrait painter. The National Gallery has said that they have "nothing against the Scots" and may buy some more works by Scottish artists. (Gee,thanks, guys, you are too kind!)
