Peppers Go Off the Map

Red Hot Chili Peppers to release concert DVD/VHS The Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a live DVD/VHS in time for the holiday season. Off the Map, due December 4th, captures the Chili Peppers' September 2000 show from Portland, Oregon. The set list includes Peppers favorites like "Californication," "Otherside," "Under the Bridge," "Blackeyed Blonde" and "Give It Away," covers of Public Enemy's "You're Gonna Get Yours" and George Clinton's "What Is Soul?" and a performance of John Frusciante's "Usually Just a T Shirt #3" from his 1994 solo album Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T Shirt. The DVD edition of Off the Map comes with an additional fifty minutes of backstage and interview footage and the tracks "Skinny Sweaty Man," "I Could Have Lied," "Parallel Universe," "Sir Psycho Sexy" and "Search and Destroy."

Meanwhile, the Chili Peppers will take part in the three day Silver Lining Silver Lake Benefit show for the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic. Elton John and Sting will headline the opening night on December 13th while the Chili Peppers and Beck play the following night with Jaguares and Jurassic 5. The final night's entertainment will be a concert version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with Donovan Leitch Jr. in the title role and John Frusciante on guitar.
