    It's all about NOT paying the per-minute long-distance toll charges.  Did you never wonder why they are called "long-distance" charges when you "1+" or "0+" dial a number?  Yet, the term "toll-free" applies to numbers you dial that are not charged to you!  A "long-distance" call was once termed a "toll call".  So, why did they change the name?  The distance is still the same! 

    When construction is finished on the building of a roadway, toll-booths may be placed on that road to collect a toll from everyone who uses that road.  Those toll-booths remain in place until the construction costs are paid for.  Then the toll-booths come down.  With long-distance, it appears to be different.  Though the "road" (wires, cables, etc.) has long been built AND has been paid for by all the tolls collected for many years in the form of "toll-calls", the telephone service companies, apparently realizing that someone might smell a rat if they continued to charge tolls and didn't take down the toll-booths, simply changed the term from "toll call" to "long-distance call".

  How does the Toll$aver Service work?

 

Toll$aver is simple and easy to use.  It is easier to use than a regular calling card!  After a quick and simple registration process, you will be given a special local or toll-free access number.  Through a method similar to "Caller ID", your registered telephone number is instantly verified.  Anytime you want to make a call, just simply dial the access number and dial the number you are calling!

It is as simple as following these six (6) steps -- to save you hundreds of dollars on your long distance bill:

  1. Register each phone number you want to activate.
  2. Each registered phone number is then provisioned, activated, and an access number is assigned to you.
  3. Dial the access number.
  4. An automated operator will instruct you to dial the number you wish to call.
  5. Dial 1 + (Area Code) + Number, and then press the # sign.
  6. Talk as long as you want to.

  How does the Toll$aver Portability feature work?

 

A great example of how Toll$aver works is to register your home number in our system and use your PIN# from your place of business.  Your flat rate will eliminate your long-distance charges from both locations!

When calling from your registered phone number, there is no need for a PIN number.  Our switch automatically recognizes your phone number.  After dialing your Toll$aver access number, the system recognizes you as a customer and allows you to place your call.  Note: In some areas, it may be necessary to deactivate call blocking by pressing *82 before calling your access number.

When you dial from any other phone, you will use your Portability Identification Number (PIN).  This way, you are not just tied to one phone line, as with other services.  It acts just like a "calling card", giving you total portability.

By requesting a Portability Identification Number (PIN), you can call from any telephone that allows toll-free calls. (No more change needed at payphones!)  These seven (7) simple steps will make Toll$aver Portability work for you.

  1. Register each phone number you want to activate and request a PIN.
  2. Each registered phone number is then provisioned, activated, and an access number (local or toll-free) and PIN are assigned to you.
  3. Dial the access number.
  4. An automated operator will instruct you when to enter your PIN followed by the # sign.
  5. The automated operator will then instruct you when to dial the number you wish to call.
  6. Dial 1 + (Area Code) + Number, and then press the # sign again.

When?  Call anytime!  You can make a call whenever you want, to whomever you want, and talk as long as you want!  Not just on the weekends or after 9pm -- anytime you want, whether early or late -- call anytime!  The choice is totally yours!

Where?  The Toll$aver calling area "footprint" covers all of the 48 continental United States.  Calls can be made from any phone to any phone in this calling area.  This service includes both interstate (state-to-state) intrastate (inside the state) calls.  This means that you no longer need to pay an additional fee to your phone company for any "extended calling area" plan you may currently be using!  You can initiate your calls from any of the following:

  • Your registered residence line;
  • Your registered business line.

If you have purchased the Toll$aver Portability feature, you can initiate your calls from any of the following in addition to those above:

  • Any non-registered residence line;
  • Any non-registered business line;
  • Any payphone that allows toll-free dialing.

  Are there any limitations on usage?

 

Yes.  There are three basic limitations on your usage of Toll$aver Calling services.

First, you are limited to VOICE ONLY calls.  This means no fax or data transmissions are allowed.  Unfortunately, Toll$aver can not include these types of calls because of the potential for great abuse by fax-blasters, e-mail spammers, computerized telemarketers and others.  If you attempt to make any other call than voice-only, your call will automatically be disconnected and the computer will log your attempt, possibly prompting a discontinuance of service.

Second, you are limited to calling within the calling area.

Third, calls to "Directory Assistance" are prohibited because the telephone companies now charge an additional fee, which is not uniform.  This "Directory Assistance" charge is not able to be included in our low fixed-cost prepaid monthly fee.

Please be sure to check out all the Terms and Conditions for a complete understanding of the limitations imposed by our carriers.

Fortunately, even with these limitations, you may still call friends, relatives, business associates and contacts as often as you want and talk as long as you like -- without suffering the pains of per-minute toll charges!

  Do I have to have credit or a long-term contract?

 

No!  You may pay for your service without a credit card or without costly deposits.

Toll$aver is a prepaid subscription service.  This means that as long as you continue to pay in advance, your service account requires no credit worthiness to activate and be available to you.  Further, you can discontinue service anytime you want by cancelling your subscription.  Click here to see our Cancellation Policy.

You may pay for your service(s) online by credit card.  If you do not wish to pay online, you will need to make special arrangements.  Please contact us by e-mail at tollsaver@hotmail.com

For ease of accounting and to minimize our liability, you may NOT prepay more than one month at a time.

If you wish a monthly invoice or statement of account, there is an additional $5.00 per month fee for each item requested.

  Do I need to switch from my current telephone service?

 

No!  It doesn't matter who your current local or long-distance provider is.  You don't have to do anything but dial the access number from any registered phone and your call is completed (you'll receive a local or toll-free access number when you register).

  What if there is a long-distance block on my phone?

 

Congratulations!  Sounds like you are already saying "NO to long-distance"!

Because our service uses local or toll-free (8xx) numbers, you will not be making any "long-distance" calls that might be affected by the block.

If you currently have a "block" on your phone, you may want to keep it to avoid an unknowing person from mistakenly making a long-distance call and putting toll-charges on your phone bill.  For this same reason, if you do not have a "long-distance block" on your line, you may want to consider requesting the block.  Why?  Because that way you will have no surprises when you get your monthly phone bill. :)

  Do I have to qualify for Toll$aver?

 

Yes.  The law says that you must be a minimum of 18 years of age to contract for any Toll$aver service.

If you meet that sole qualification imposed by us, you may want to further "qualify" yourself by asking yourself the following questions:

 

  How many phones are allowed on each account?

 

You may have more than one registered line on your account.  Please don't be confused:  You will pay for each line on your account.

To determine the monthly fee per line, follow this simple rule:  If you pay your local telephone company for a "residence" line, you must sign up for our "Residence" service; and if you pay your local telephone company for a "business" line, you must sign up for our "Business" service.

Calls placed through Toll$aver may be dialed from either your registered number or from your portability number.  With your purchase of the Portability Feature, you are given 3-way calling so that multiple calls may be made simultaneously.

If you discover that your needs require you to place calls fom your residence/business and/or you are also "on the road", you will need to purchase (for a one-time fee) the Portability Feature.

  How do I activate my phone so I can use Toll$aver?

 

We have kept this very simple and easy for you.  You can sign up right here on this website -- we'll get your service turned on ASAP.  Please be very accurate in entering both contact methods (phone number and e-mail address), to insure that you are reachable!  Welcome aboard -- and spread the word!

We begin the processing as soon as you place the order. It takes approximately 24 hours after your payment has been confirmed for your service to become activated.  However, we do ask that you allow 1-2 business days for activation.

A customer service representative will e-mail or call you once you are activated to give you your access number and portability number.
