The Illinois Chapel Cemetery is located in Washington County, Arkansas. When coming from Fayetteville, AR, take Highway 62 West. Stay on 62 and go through the town of Prairie Grove. In Prairie Grove, this highway will intersect with East Parks Street. Turn left on East Parks Street (also known as Illinois Chapel Road). After about 4 or 5 miles, there is a turnoff to the right for County Road #67. Turn on 67. This road is initially paved, but quickly turns into a dirt road. The cemetery is not very far down this road and can be plainly seen on the left. This rural cemetery is well-kept and is still in use. There are several unmarked graves, as well as graves marked only with fieldstones. Also, there are a few rusted metal funeral home markers that are no longer readable.
An asterisk (*) denotes names taken from funeral home records. We did not personally see headstones for these people, but records indicate that they are buried at Illinois Chapel Cemetery.
