Directions:
Row 1: Start with 81 ch, turn.
Row 2: 3 ch, 1 dc in 4th ch from the hook, 1dc in all ch (=81 dc), turn.
Row 3: 4 ch, *skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, 1 ch*, repeat from * to *, 1 dc in last dc, turn.
Row 4: 4 ch, 3 dc in 2nd dc from the start, 3 ch, 3 dc in the same dc, 1 ch, skip next dc, 1 dc in 2nd dc, *1ch, skip next dc, (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc) in 2nd dc, 1 ch, skip next dc, 1 dc in 2nd dc*, repeat from * to *, 1 dc in the last dc, turn.
Row 5: 7 ch, 1 sc in the 3ch-loop, 4 ch, *1 dc in dc from the previous row, 4 ch, 1 sc in the 3ch loop, 4 ch*, repeat from * to *, 1 dc in last 3ch-dc, turn.
Row 6: 4 ch, 1 dc in the first 4ch-loop, 1 ch, 1 dc in the sc, 1 ch, 1 dc in the loop, 1 ch, *1 dc in the dc from previous row, 1 ch, 1 dc in the loop, 1 ch, 1 dc in the sc, 1 ch, 1 dc in the loop, 1 ch*, repeat from * to *, finish the row with 1 dc in last dc, turn.
Row 7: 3 ch, 1 dc in every ch and dc from the last row (=81 dc). Do not fasten off!
Finishing border:
You will do this around the bookmark. I will separate the border in 4 sides. First and third are wider than 2nd and 4th.
Side 1: 1 ch, *4 sc in next 4 dc, 1 picot*, repeat from * to * till the end of this side, 4 sc in last 4 dc. In the first corner you do 3 sc (in the same spot).
Side 2: 1 ch, 1 sc, *1 picot, 4 sc*, repeat from * to * 3 more times, 1 picot (5 picot total in this side). In the second corner you do 3 sc (in the same spot).
Side 3: Repeat side 1.
Side 4: Repeat side 2, and end with sl st in the first sc at the beginning of the border. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Put the wet towel on the wrong side of the bookmark and then iron it.
