Chantal's
Guide to Teabag Folding
~*~
F.A.Q. ~*~
Q:
Tea bag folding? How can you make cards with tea
bags?
A:
Many people think we're actually folding with the
bags that hold the tealeaves. But that's not the
case. We use the wrappers that the teabags are
supplied in.
Q:
Tea doesn't come in nicely colored wrappers where
I live. Can I still do this?
A:
Yes! There are several ways. First, you can use
the tiles from this site and print them. But if
you printer doesn't print that nicely, there are
more ways to make folding paper. For example: cut
equal squares from gift paper, just make sure you
have the same part of the pattern centered. Or
you can make your own paper by again cutting
equally sized squares and decorating them with
rubber stamps or any other way you want. Just
make sure the paper is thin so it can easily be
folded. Last but not least, craft stores may sell
kaleidoscope paper, which was created for this
hobby. It may, however, be a bit expensive.

Tips
& tricks:
*
When putting the foldings together in a medallion
or mandala, you'll probably notice that it's
almost impossble to keep them together. My tip:
when you have two bags correctly assebled, put a
small piece of Scotch tape on the back so they
stay together. When you're done, use double-sided
tape to paste the mandala onto your card.

Combine two matching colors and see how your work
looks completely different!
