Fall Sleepover coming up in September

Welcome to the web site of Patience Quilters. We are a quilting group located in Central Louisiana in Rapides Parish and have members from here and Grant Parish as well.

We meet as a large group on the second Tuesday of the month at First United Methodist Church on Jackson Street in Alexandria at 6:30 P.M.

There are also two mini groups. One meets on the first and third Thursday of the month at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 10 AM and one meets on the last Thursday of the month at 6:15 PM at Gunter Library on Highway 28 East.

We were established in 1979 as the result of a few ladies who were interested in quilting and have grown to about 60 members in 2003.

We have several main projects each year. We make and donate baby quilts for various organizations in Rapides Parish, lap robes for the VA Hospital in Pineville and small stuffed toys for the children's ward at Huey P. Long Hospital.

We make and raffle a queen size quilt each year to fund our educational and charity projects as well as seminars for our members.

We participate in the Rapides Parish Fair, Kent House Sugar Day and the zoo's Wild side of the Arts Day.

We try to have two fun sleepovers and two workshops each year.

Our dues, payable in November, are $15 per year. Members may join at any time by paying their dues.  Guests are always welcome!
