I have tried to do this you know
but tethered to my heart strings
my love always seems to bring me back to you
although you say we're through

the love you try to hide

someone help me understand
the wisdom of this plan

Someday was the dream
now the dream is gone
silently I carry on
with a heavy heart and soul

I look at the ring I once wore
I think about the time you swore
that we would together be
if I just waited patiently

Now the dream has turned to stone
as we face the days alone
wondering how you are feeling
and if this tears your heart
into a million parts

I cry myself to sleep
I just make it through each day
hoping to hear you say
I am sorry I was wrong
Together is where we belong
