Olympic Torch Relay
August 2000

The Route of the Olympic flame as it will travel around Australia. Over 85% of Australian population live within one hour's drive and have the chance of seeing the flame.

At 120 days, this relay will be the longest ever staged as the last runner enters the Olympic Stadium on September 15. One hundred of those days will be in Australia, where the torch will zigzag across the country, covering 27,000 kilometres, over deserts and mountains, in surfboats and on horseback but mainly on foot
