Matthew William Catania
On December 13, 1999, Matthew William Catania was born to Bill and Lynne Catania. Matthew weighed in at 4lbs, 1oz, and was 17.5 inches long. Matthew joined the Catania family two months early, but all are doing well and Matthew is growing rapidly.

Welcome to Catania Racing '99! Catania Racing consists of 2 Limited Late Models, both '99 Monte Carlos, that compete at Stateline & Eriez Speedways. You can check up on the Catania Racing team weekly as results are posted every Monday! This site is the home of Catania Racing, but also is a place where fans of Stateline and Eriez can check weekly results of all classes, as well as keep up to date with weekly racing schedules, which on this site are "INTERACTIVE"...be sure and check them out. Catania Racing '99 is loaded with pictures, Stateline/Eriez information, driver biographies, and will soon have an account of the Limited Late Model Class with car/driver pictures, and an up-to-date driver roster. As for the team, Bill Catania ownes both cars, and is the driver of the #18 LaPorte Chevy-Olds/Larry Johnston Chevrolet.

This marks Bill's 24th year of racing at Stateline and Eriez Speedways, he even built one of the first Limited Late Models in 1982! With 2 Circuit championships and several track championships under his belt, he is always known to be a tough competitor!

Bill Catania Jr. is the Driver of the #13 Modem Madness/LaPorte Chevy-Olds/Cellular ONE Chevrolet. Modem Madness is an internet and computer supply company located on 211 North Main St. in Jamestown, NY. Click on their logo and see what they are all about!!

As for Bill Jr., this will mark the 7th year since he began racing. Bill Jr's rookie season was in '93 in the Spectator division, and he competed in '94 & '95 in the Limited Late Model division at Eriez. Bill took some time off in '96 so serve as National FFA Vice-President. Bill Jr. returned in '97 to race at Eriez, and then completed his first full season on the Circuit in '98, placing 9th in points.

In general, this is an exciting season for racing!! With a new surface at Stateline, racing has been top-notch. During the first few weeks of competition there have been many instances of 3-wide competition, as there are as many racing grooves as there is space to fit a race car!!! Eriez Speedway holds a great deal of promise also, as the track has held together well during the early portion of the year...hopefully this trend will continue.
