Kim has won national songwriting competitions, performed with well known musicians, collaborated with hit songwriters, and had her material recorded by noted artists. Now struck down by Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Songs From A Porcelain Trailer is not just the title of one of her albums but how Kim must live to survive. After pesticide applications, a gas leak and several large hits from chemicals in her environment, Kim's immune and nervous system gave out and she became sensitized to everything in the environment.
Kim travelled the U.S. Southwest many years, having to live outside for long periods without even a tent she could tolerate while trying to find a safe enough place to live. She now resides in the Arizona desert where she, with limited energy, continues to write songs and literally record them in the specially made porcelain trailer she also calls home. She does everything including the composing, singing, instrument playing, sequencing, arranging, recording, producing and mixing and somehow despite great adversity has never given up on her music.
She has four albums available and a new one almost completed. Her gifted songwriting features one album about the growing health issue of chemical sensitivities while the others showcase what in manys' opinion are hit calibre pop-rock songs. These works are moving testament to the artist's struggle to express her art against all odds; if you take the time to listen you won't be disappointed!
