I live in Perth, Western Australia, in a City called Rockingham. I was raised here, and have returned here to raise my own family. When I was growing up in Rockingham, it was a one Primary School, and no High School Seaside town. Today, my sons are growing up in a City of over 66,000 people, with many schools and wonderful facilities.
My sons love living in Rockingham, and I am sure they would get rid of me sooner than leave *s*. I am the second youngest of 6 children; 5 of whom all live within a 20 minute radius. *The Loner*, my eldest brother, Ken, lives nearly 2 hours away. It hasn't always been so .... most of us have spread far and wide over the years, including me .. but we seem to gravitate back to the family, Rockingham and the ocean.
We are situated right on the coast, with beautiful beaches for swimming and all varieties of water sports. Rockingham is only a short distance from the cities of Perth and Fremantle, yet we have the space and lifestyle inherited from the Rockingham of yesteryear.
The ocean played a large part in my up-bringing and childhood - the ocean and the beach was our playground ... also my friend. I find the beach the best place to think, to ponder, to muse, to plan, to walk .... to let your soul run free. I have included some pics of the beaches around where I live; I hope you enjoy them. They were taken with a digital camera, on a winters day ... still lovely, though, huh?
I have finally established pages for each of my sons, and also for two of my nephews who are doing some rather special things in their life right now. I am hoping the boys will take over the maintenance of their sections themselves, though, this may take some time *grin*.
