FREE FRED HAMPTON JR. NOW!

Determined to keep another Fred Hampton from walking the streets of Chicago capable of organizing the masses of African people, the U.S. government, with the help of Mayor M. Daley, on May 19, 1993 railroaded Fred Hampton Jr. to prison on phoney arson charges and convicted him for his political beliefs and 1st Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech, Assembly and Association as he was the local President of the National People's Democratic Uhuru Movement, a mass African working class led movement fighting to defend the democratic rights of the African community and expose the U.S. government's counterinsurgency (war) on the African community!
Since his arbitrary sentence of 18 years, for a so-called arson that did not occur, admitted even by the Chicago Fire Department, Fred Jr. has refused to be silent about the ongoing attacks on African and oppressed people both outside and inside the prison system. He organized a Prisoners of Conscience Committee (P.O.C.C.) which began to hold monthly Martyr of the Month (M.O.M.) moments of silence as part of the political education showing the continuation of African resistance from chattel slavery to the present in commemoration of people like Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, Harriet Tubman, and George and Jonathan Jackson who stood up for the rights of African and oppressed people. The P.O.C.C. also organized to expose the violations of human and democratic rights inside the prison system with participants and supporters throughout Illinios and the U.S.
On September 1, 1998, former Stateville Warden George DeTella (who is now the Assistant Deputy Director of the Illinios Department of Corrections, I.D.O.C.) called for the transfer of Fred Hampton's Son to the newly built $73 million dollar Supermax Prison called TAMMS. Fred Jr. was transferred as retaliation for successfully exposing the unhealthy and inhumane prison conditions inside Stateville prison such as faulty plumbing in the cells and cancer causing contaminated water which forced the Stateville Administration to begin to make some of the many repairs the needs of which were brought to light. TAMMS is a concentration camp of the worst kind with the specific purpose to commit institutionalized torture by completely depriving inmates of their basic needs and rights including the basic right guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution's 8th Amendment which states that no one shall be subject to cruel and unusual punishment...TAMMS is legalized torture! It must be exposed! FREE FRED NOW!
