APACHE TRAIL SPANISH MUSTANGS

Breeding and raising rare, authentic Spanish Mustangs has been our goal for the past twenty-five years. We invite you to learn more about our ranch, our breeding program and our horses in the following pages.

Shown above is the talented and beautiful grulla gelding, Little Hawk, SMR 1373. He is owned by Ashley Newkirk, our grandaughter, and has been shown and placed in Western Pleasure, Halter, Reining and Western riding as well as many gymkhanas. His first year in gymkhana (2001 season) resulted in 102 ribbons, a number of trophies, including season high point winner and runner up in two other gymkhanas as well as placings in reining and western pleasure.

Shown below are Little Hawk and Ashley at the Cochise County Fair exiting the reining competition. The 2002 season continued to be fruitful with twenty first places and 36 second places as well as a number of highpoint and runner up awards and end of the year awards.
