WARNING: COMPUTER
FRAUD |
|
Hi all, It seems I have been defrauded of a considerable
sum of money. I bought a computer online via TradeMe
(http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auction_detail_expired.asp?id=3007336)
from someone calling himself "Mark Price" and I requested a
landline number to confirm the identity of the seller. He
called me and provided a landline number which allegedly was
his work number and asked me to call him back. On calling a
"Consultancy" answered and passed me on to the seller.
Satisfied I paid the money. However several days later I still
hadn't received the computer and my e-mails go unanswered. On
calling the number again a woman answered who asserted that
she does not know a "Mark Price" and that nobody was in the
house at the time my call was answered. The police is
informed. Guess I should have used "SafeTrader" :-(

Ouch!!! |
|
That must hurt. I saw that auction and thought about
bidding. I would certainly use safetrader on an amount like
that with a newbe. I'm very sorry for you, hope it works out
in the end.

How terrible for you! You must be devastated - such a huge
sum of money. Have you emailed/phoned Trade Me and got them to
give all this traders details to the Police to help in their
investigation?...some of it may be correct hopefully. All the
best in getting your money back or at the very least
prosecuting this 'person' for fraud. Good Luck.

I don't understand |
|
why you didn't go collect it. Especially as it seemed a
bargain price and a newbie selling. I feel sorry for you
losing your money but let this serve as a lesson to others,
protect your ass coz no one else will.
