17/10/1999 - Hesketh Fletcher School - Open Night.

Acoustic set by three original band members, (Colin, Ben L and Ben C). Performance hindered by Colin having a severe sore throat and Ben C having a trapped nerve in his neck. Despite this the handful of people who watched were impressed.

29/3/2000 - Rivington Barn - Canon Slade Leavers Do.

First proper gig for band. Under the name of "Cynosure" played two 8 song sets in front of 260 people. First set played as people were arriving and wasn't really appreciated. Better reception for second set, as people were even seen to be dancing!! Downside of gig - Annoying DJ playing "Steps" songs.

6/4/2000 - Hesketh Fletcher School - Atherton

First self organized gig. 120 people paid for tickets to come and watch. Crowd mostly pathetic - more life seen in a corpse. Band well received even though they did not play to their potential. 3 man Mosh pit established towards end of gig. Female presence in front of the stage appreciated by band.

26/8/2000 - The Glass Barrel Pub, Tyldesley

Agreed to play for free as landlord had never heard us due to lack of demo tape. Best performance to date by the band. Rapturous reception from crowd brought two encores from band. Alcohol quotient of band affected performance throughout second half of gig. However alcohol quotient of crowd led to this going unnoticed. Landlord ecstatic, asked band back as soon as they left the stage, and provided them with a free crate of beer!!! OH YES!!!!

30/10/00 - The Contact Theatre, Manchester

We were invited here by an old friend. The night was mainly rap, hip hop etc... but we played about 4 songs and played them really well because of the good PA system present at the Theatre

18/11/00 - Glass Barrel (The Return)

The return to The Glass Barrel was extremely successful. We were recognised by many people and when we were setting up in the pub a few people were paying compliments about the last gig. Also during the day of the gig people were constantly calling into the pub to inquire about what time we were playing. It rocked, we played pretty well and we have a 3 gig deal lined up. We'll be playing there at Christmas!

5/5/01 - Glass Barrel 3 (Son of Glass Barrel)

Well the, under new ownership, Glass Barrel witnessed the long awaited return of the 'Cat to gigging.  It was a lot better than the last gig and our new material was strong enough to nearly fill the 20 song set with it.  We only did 4 covers and still got a good reception, and at a pub, this is good.

28/5/01 - Boars Head Pub, Leigh

This was terrible, don't even remind us of this one.  In short Guitarcat snapped the "A" string during "In Hindsight" and it took about 15 minutes out of our 30 minute set.  This was all outside in the sun, in front of about 300 people.  We didn't play too well either.  In my opinion the worst gig we've ever done.  More on this gig can be found in the band history section.

1/6/01 - Hollywood Bar, Wigan

After the nightmare gig of Bank Holiday Monday we had a chance to "put things right" on the following Friday at the Hollywood Bar.  We were on first and the gig went without a hitch (which is the most we could ask for after how much we sucked at the Boars Head).  We played the set that we didn't finish at the Boars Head.  The other bands in the back seem to like us and were saying how original the sound was.  Also, loads of random people were coming up to me (Keyboards Cat) and shaking my hand and drunkenly telling me how good it was to have a keyboard player in a band like ours.

4/8/01 - Glass Barrel VI (Glass Barrel-core)

Well we once again returned to our old stomping grounds, the Glass Barrel in Tyldesley.  This time we brought our friends Enuff Squirrel along for the ride.  The crowd response was good (apart from a few idiots hurling needless abuse at Enuff Squirrel between songs) and we played fairly well.  As I write this I am hoping that our next gig is somewhere different as this 'venue' is really starting to bore me and all our payment gets spent on the PA.
